Is it time we start handing around the koha bucket? Hawke’s Bay isn’t doing too good, where is our MP to stand in when she should?
What’s her face, National, I stupidly voted for her. I don’t even think I’ve seen her in those Wellington chambers.
Is it not her job to represent the people of her electorate, to ensure jobs and housing?
All our food factories closing I cannot help to imagine the harm this will cause on our children, we might be alright for now but what about future harvests?
If we are not canning and freezing our excess, if our excess rots on the vine, or if apple trees are not planted at all. It will be our tamariki that will be left starving.
Headlines in Hawke’s Bay are warning signs for the whole country, our fruit basket is rotting.

Politics is all about carving the people in chunks and pitting pieces of the population against each other.
I have had enough of man fighting against man and aim to unite all New Zealanders under a new political party called the Pastry Party. As a kiwi I love my baked goods so can’t see any reason why anyone wouldn’t vote for me.
The Pastry Party is for all people of Aotearoa and will advocate for the rights of man in our battle against the birds.
Vote for us and we will create jobs for farmers, hunters, and bakers to bake fresh kiwi pies. We will then export our pies for $2 million each. Growing our GDP and balancing the budget.
For this we will convert pine forests to productive bush land to raise kiwi for their plump thighs and bountiful breasts.
But we won’t stop there, kaka and kererū sausage rolls, tuatara and tūī egg quiche. We can trade our pastries for oil and surplus profits will create a sovereign wealth fund.
Feather dresses will be the height of fashion sold exclusively to the rich. Beaks will be ground up and sold to China for its medicinal properties. To create a trade surplus of natural products.
Guided tours of the nests and a petting zoo will see tourists flock to our shores. Live kiwi sold for a premium packaged and flown offshore.
A vote for the Pastry Party is a vote for the working class, for your wallet, and the warm flaky future of New Zealand.
And never forget to always blow on the pie.

The current war is over oil but the next war will be for intelligence. I say that as a sci-fi writer but see the superpowers positioning themselves for ai dominance. While the US struggles us with crude they build the next dependence framework.

In New Zealand we live in a timewarp stuck in 1975, the tech companies we had built up are being sold off to American venture capitalists or worse Peter Thiel.

Our wealth is bleed offshore through subscriptions to rent movies, music, or software. Ownership is never yours. Each morning I log into Windows further enriching Epstein friends.

We need to take back our digital sovereignty, build kiwi, and form a strategy for our tech future. Like it or hate it we should be forming an opinion on ai, it is the next nuclear technology. So what is our strategy going forward?
