It’s time to deal with the AI bot accounts

Hey all,

As many of us have noticed, there’s been a big influx of bot accounts posting “funny” stories in this sub lately. I don’t know what they’re for- harvesting conversation data maybe, not sure. But it’s pretty bad.

It’s sad that many in this community seem unable to catch the tells, as well, but I suspect this sub probably has a lot of less tech-literate folks than average on Reddit and I guess that’s playing out.

Here’s a good example- but I’ve seen these every single day lately: https://www.reddit.com/r/daddit/s/d2xRxd6PEm

This is a brand new account, zero karma, zero other contributions on the site, and the writing is exactly the kind of pithy, “funny” AI slop that many of us have grown accustomed to seeing.

This sub needs a combination of karma/account age requirements. I get that this may be a place people come for help in a pinch, but I think we also have a responsibility to keep our active members from being abused by these bots as well (ie unknowingly being used to train them, etc).

I don’t expect the admins to be able to keep up with all of these, but Reddit has tools to stop these kinds of accounts from posting and I really think they need to be enabled.

Budget Beginner Tent for Overlanding Advice

Hey everyone,

Looking for some advice here as I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with all of the options these days. When I was coming up we all just had pup tents and made it work.

Here's some context for what I'm looking for and my situation:

  • Tent is for two people (me and my wife) and would like to probably err on the side of more space than less, as we have one kid who will probably eventually come with us
  • Setting would be "overlanding" to a location and camping in the woods, no amenities. We are *not* planning to backpack with this, so not looking for an ultralight or anything, but smaller is still better for packing's sake.
  • Needs to have a footprint/floor or whatever, preferably fully sealed. Ease of use setting up is a priority as well, I've used tents in the past that were like a 30 minute affair, which is a bit miserable.
  • Location would be mostly in the appalachain mountains (east coast), nothing super low temperature, and mosquitoes definitely a concern in the sprint/summer.

My budget is hopefully around $200 or less. I guess that's pretty tight these days (which seems crazy), but I definitely can't afford a $4,000 roof top tent or whatever. If we need to stretch the budget a bit to get something decent, we can maybe save up for a while. Super appreciative of any advice! If there's other questions I should have answered, let me know and I'll edit the post!

Edit: Okay the Kelty Daydreamer 4P is on sale for under $200 and looks pretty solid if anyone has used it and can advise for/against!

I'll start with saying I'm not an expert on the Magic lore or anything- though I love it, I mostly just know it from the cards and haven't read a lot of the novels/web stuff. However, I was just browsing Scryfall today and stumbled upon this card that no one has probably thought about in decades, and was interested to read the flavor text. I know it's been argued on and off if Serra could really be dead/gone over the years, but it was cool to see this statement from Taysir becoming directly relevant nearly 30 years later in the latest Phyrexian cycle as some aspect of her was revealed to Elspeth.

Serra is my favorite character and I'm always hoping for new info about her, new lore, etc. as much as I know she's not likely to ever make a return. I just thought this was a neat piece of flavor text- hope it tickles you all as well.
