Hi everyone, I will be arriving in Thailand/BKK on a fresh DTV. I know there is a 20k THB cash requirement to show proof of funds - everyone online as well as agents are split on whether DTV requires this too because the visa application process itself has multiple levels of proof-of-funds.

I'm in a third country right now where getting USD or THB is turning out to be a massive hassle. Has anyone entered on the DTV recently and can confirm?

I'm looking to buy about $650 USD in Danang for visa requirements. I've tried out Vietcom Bank at Tran Hung Dao, but they say that they only do USD to VND conversions and not the other way around.

older Reddit posts and even Google say that they should, but that's what they told me at the bank. Any recommendations for other banks that might do it and are worth checking out?

Yes I'm exaggerating. I hope this is an isolated incident. This is a rant.

I was at the airport today and a Pune couple barged in through the Fast Forward lane ignoring the queue. I first asked them politely to move because there's a queue. They ignored me, so I tapped the guy on the shoulder to tell him that he needs to move to the back of the line. That set off the entitled aunty on a tirade yelling at the top of her voice. Then yelling ch**ya and some such.

Thankfully, the cops arrived and listened to both of us (that's how I know they were headed to Pune), and let us on our way. The aunty was still yelling at them, airport staff, and everyone who could hear - I got my checkin done and left, she was still yelling. If it were a guy doing this, he'd definitely have been arrested.

There's a marked difference in the behavior of locals - the queue at security was all locals, they were in queue, listening to instructions, one bumped into me by mistake and apologized.

I've never been a fan of regionalism having moved cities/countries multiple times myself - but I grew up all over Assam and spent 15 years in Delhi NCR, the quality of people in these two places are night and day. Personally, I very much prefer our local Assamese culture and wouldn't want it to change.

My company started a sub stack almost a year back, and we have about a hundred subscribers - 100% of those subscribers have come from our efforts, none from substack. And traffic from Substack into our main website is negligible, single-digit numbers every month.

In my previous company, we had all of our content on our own website, and in a year we were getting 3,000 to 5,000 fresh visitors every month. This was after chat GPT.

I am seriously thinking about moving all the content back onto the company website. In the hope that it will be more trackable and we will show up more on searches and AI answers.

any suggestions for my situation? Has anyone moved blogs in one direction or the other that can share their thoughts?
