Fun activities for couples in Đà Nẵng

I'm staying in Đà Nẵng with my girlfriend ( she's vietnamese, if that's relevant ) and we're looking for some fun activities to do as a couple here.

I'm not looking for google-suggested activities, but prefer some actual advice from people already here or have been here.

So, what do you guys suggest ?

Heroes of Newerth

Heya! Odd request but I'm wondering if there is anyone in Da Nang who plays Heroes Of Newerth and wants to play in an internet cafe. I'm female, 33, trying to relive my early 20's with a HoN lan.

** need to add I haven't played for ages and am likely not very good, this would just be for joy and not competitive HoN

Is this kind of hotel customer service normal in Da Nang, why?

I’m staying at a hotel Reddit recommended at about 26 usd per night.

It started out well room was nice, but then the aircon stopped working when I got back from a bike ride so I gave it some time and then talked to front desk who was some young woman who spoke little English. She told me to wait and see if it would work.

Then it didn’t after 1 hour and then I asked her to contact her manager and she just kept saying tomorrow tomorrow and I told her no, I paid for aircon. She ignored it until I threatened her with a refund request.

Then she said she would check if there were early checkouts so I could switch a room tonight. I said ok and waited another hour and heard nothing. When I then returned she had simply left and the night shift was in, who I didn’t see the point in bothering.

I’m going to make a refund request to Agoda now and make sure to tell everyone about my bad experience.

The question is however what does the manager here think she achieves by this unprofessional behavior? That people will just suck it up?

Where to find rent in Da Nang?

Hi, I’m looking for a 1-2 month stay and there aren’t many great options on Airbnb, I’m thinking of checking Facebook groups as most people recommend but for example looking at “Apartments for rent Da Nang” and there are like a million listings an hour, so idk if it’s legit. Is there a particular group or agency to recommend? Price range is $650 max for a 2-bed or $400 for a 1-bed

Aeon Mall in DaNang

I see it is now open. Has anyone been there yet? Is it anything like the Aeon in KL with a supermarket, clothes, furniture, housewares, etc. Sort of like a supersized Lotte only with better stuff?

Where can I safely dispose of a swollen power bank in Da Nang?

Hi everyone!

I live in the An Hải area of Da Nang and have an old power bank with a slightly swollen battery. I know it's not safe to throw it in regular trash, and I definitely don't want to cause a fire or environmental damage.

Does anyone know where I can properly dispose of it? Are there any e-waste collection points, electronics stores, or recycling centers in Da Nang that accept swollen lithium batteries?

Personal recommendations would be especially appreciated.

Thanks!

Western Union (WU) for cash pickup in Vietnam?

Hi everyone! Has anyone here tried the process of self-transferring money via Western Union (WU) to pick it up in cash at a bank in Vietnam?

I just found out that my previous card for ATM withdrawals (Global66) no longer works here. I’ve been looking at both Remitly and WU apps. I’m leaning towards Western Union because, for some reason, Remitly isn't showing Vietnam as a destination for me, even though their website says it’s supported.

I’d love to know:

  1. Which banks in Vietnam are best/most reliable for WU cash pickups?
  2. Any general tips or advice for this process?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Da Nang Budget

Hi, we have an upcoming 5 days trip to Da Nang next week.

I'm with my husband and a 1 year old.

I just want to ask, is ₫21M enough for a 5 days trip with cafe hopping, local food trip, tourist spot visits and also shopping and groceries?

Genuinely asking, is our budget too tight?

Why Da Nang is a good place to live?

I'm just curious. I haven't traveled enough to compare, so I'd love to hear your perspectives.

To me, it's affordable, with nice beaches and good food. I feel good living here.

Recommendations on a $2000/mo budget

Hi,
I'm planning to move to da nang for a few months.

It's my gf and I, how far you think we can go on a $2000/mo budget?

What do you think would be the best use of this budget ? Is it enough?

- Where would you rent ? What neighborhood?
- Airbnb? It has good discounts renting monthly in some units.
- Food? Grocery shopping?
- should I Rent a bike?
- cafes? Networking?

Thank you!

Over-the-counter Availability

Hi all. Just a genuine question since google and JIPITI couldn’t provide me an answer.

Are 1-3cc syringe available for over-the-counter purchase? I am a transwoman who relies heavily on her hormones injection. Any information will be appreciated. And no, I don’t have doctor’s note with me or prescription. I ONLY NEED the syringe. Thank you!

What kind of fruit is this?

I've seen it frequently at Hoa Cuong Wholesale Market in Da Nang City. They look like tadpole eggs and they also have the brown shell. The ones in the picture are the ones I've peeled🐣
