Cos school is withholding hours by refusing to correct time, pls help/advise
I’m currently enrolled in cosmetology school in Michigan. The thing we use to account for our hours is an app called Zenoti, which requires us to manually clock in and out when we are at school.
I have only forgotten to clock in/out a few times throughout my entire time at school and I very, VERY, rarely ask them for corrections. While I do understand that it’s my own fault for forgetting to clock back in from lunch, I had a guest at 1:00, which was when I was supposed to clock back in. That is indisputable proof that I was present and actively working towards getting my hours, but the school is refusing to acknowledge it or give me credit for the time.
Is there anything I can do? I’ve asked multiple different instructors multiple different times to fix it and give me credit for that time. I know for a fact I am not the only person who has not gotten their time corrected. The school is refusing to correct anyone’s time, stating that “an employer wouldn’t do it”, which isn’t even true because an employer would legally be required to compensate employees for time, regardless of failure to clock in or not.
