Shadowrun Takedown

So a little backstory. I am a huge Shadowrun fan. Don’t play the table top anymore but I play the Genesis game often. I play a lot of board games with my group and wanted to get a Shadowrun board game that would encompass the run aspect.

I bought the expanded edition of Sprawl Ops and my group played it once. It’s worker placement. It’s good, but not what I was looking for.

I bought Takedown because it seemed like what I was looking for and it is. I want to expand on it though. I started by adding the nuyen tokens and doc wagon tokens from Sprawl Ops to Takedown.

I want to also add a HeroQuest Board into the mix. Use the corridors as streets and the rooms as buildings. Use a room as a bar that you meet a Mr. Johnson at. Other rooms as merchants for equipment, weapons, etc. I want to have encounter rolls on each block you move as a team. Kind of like a shady guy trying to sell you something, Lone Star, gang encounter.

So my question would just be if anyone has any suggestions on this for improvement. I know playing the table top would be the easiest suggestion but my group isn’t into that. I love adding stuff from other games.

If the Hawks regress

Seeing the success Rod Brind'Amour had this year makes me wonder. His style seemed to be to get his guys in tip top shape and stress hustle and team.

If the Hawks regress and don’t look to be turning the corner. I could see Davidson axing Blashill and going in a different direction with the coach.

One of the things that jumped out at me during the finals was hearing that Taylor Hall said that when he arrived in Carolina, he “wasn’t in skating shape enough” to play the way Rod Brind’Amour’s system demands. I know this was under a different coach but I don’t feel much has changed in that regard for the Hawks and it needs to. That should be a wake up call.

I can’t help but see Duncan Keith as someone they aren’t thinking of but could make a ton of sense. He was always a conditioning freak and hustled every night. He is currently a Player Development Consultant with the Oilers. I know he wants to be home but I wonder if a Head Coaching opportunity with the team he was instrumental in helping win 3 cups could sway him. And if anyone can get the number one D out of Levshunov, it would be him.
