Help with 4th Slot

I had to do some shuffling this week for friends' availability. So need to hit something smaller for my 4th slot this week. Any advice on if any of the following are worth it?

  • The Rivals of Amziah King
  • Super Troopers 3
  • Nimrods
  • Wrong Girls
  • One Night Only

Already been to see Your Name & Train to Busan, didn't get Wet Hot or La La Land near me, & Point Break is not eligible. Also already seeing Six! & Spidey for the first time (was on vaca when it came out!)

Was gonna hit Tony on Thus since I missed it at SU, but my group that's going to Six! is only free on Thurs 🤷‍♂️. I also skipped SU this week since it was It Ends, and I technically have that at home already 😁

I also have 1 friend who still needs to see Odyssey. I wish he'd hurry up and get some free time so I can knock it off my list as well. This would have been the perfect opportunity!! 😣

Edit: Going with The Rivals of Amziah King. Overwhelmingly top response, and apparently a bit more limited than the others. Wrong Girls was a close 2nd, but one I feel I could wait for digital and not miss too much from the experience.

Buddy vs It Ends: ALL the Evidence!

I’ve been doing a full investigation on tonight’s screening. Let me know if I missed anything!

In the PRO-BUDDY column:

  • Celebration Cinemas listed their rating as “severe” gore and violence, and “moderate” profanity. The ratings guide for Buddy? “Severe” violence, “moderate” profanity! This would eliminate It Ends which appears to have no violence. Celebration ratings have correctly predicted many AMC screenings, including the last four.
  • Many AMC locations have two screens dedicated to this screening. They typically only have one for a mystery screening. Could this mean it’s a more anticipated film?
  • A Reddit commenter said the manager of her local AMC told her it’s Buddy.
  • Another theater chain, Galaxy, has their screening for tonight listed as an “explicit hard R” rating. Which would also eliminate It Ends (the softest of R ratings).
  • Galaxy lists the runtime for their screening as 107 minutes. Buddy is 95 minutes. It Ends is 89 minutes. Mystery screenings have historically not stretched their stated runtime by 18 minutes.

In the ANTI-BUDDY/PRO-IT ENDS column:

  • A leaker who apparently has a good track record gave a clue for the Regal screening pointing towards It Ends. But could Regal be showing a different film? It’s uncommon, but it HAS happened before.
  • A Reddit commenter said he works at AMC and the actual runtime of this screening is 89 minutes (the length of It Ends). He also said it has the Buddy trailer attached. Which would eliminate Buddy.

In the WILD CARD column:

Blood Shine could still be in play. It’s 100 minutes, releases in 11 days, and while there’s no ratings guide, presumably it has gore and violence, which could explain the rating. (However it also appears to be a highly sexual movie, which was not stated. It is also being released on streaming, and limited cinemas.) Camp Miasma seems to be out of the running given it is already out in limited release and has a longer runtime.

So the question is… WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?!?!??? If it’s not Buddy, did Celebration just make a mistake? And Galaxy? Let me know your thoughts! I think it’s 50-50, but I’m still manifesting an orange unicorn!

PS: Yes, I’m aware I have too much time on my hands. 😯
