Osteosarcoma? 9-year-old greyhound presenting in left hip.

Hello Vets!

I am trying to get any guidance for my (almost) 9-year-old female retired racing greyhound. My vet retired last year, so this is the first time I'm seeing a new vet and it's all very confusing. My girl developed a limp in the last couple of weeks. I went to a vet yesterday who did x-rays and told me that it looks like cancer in her back left hip. He sent the x-rays to a radiologist for a more in-depth report which I have included in this post. I know that greyhounds are very prone to osteosarcoma, but this vet has not said that is what this is. He is saying that our next course of action should be to biopsy the bone to find out what kind of cancer it is. The estimate for the biopsy is around $3000. If we love our dog very much but will not be pursuing amputation or a hip replacement, does the biopsy even make sense? Everything I have read says that with this breed and this age osteosarcoma is the most likely. Any guidance or thoughts are much appreciated.

Maps Rater Project payment refusal?

Did anyone else deal with this - I completed the Ara Mu Maps Rater project that ended on July 13th. I was never paid for it. I have reached out to support asking how to receive payment only to be told that my work was not of the quality that "the client" was looking for and that is why I wasn't paid. Then yesterday I receive an email from Welo Data Talent saying based on my "strong performance" they are recommending a new rater project for me.

This is all just a scam, right??

Thanks.

Help please. Need to buy 2 mattresses for my 9-year-old twin boys. Hoping for a full-size for under $500 a piece that will last as they grow.

Any suggestions for budget friendly mattresses that will work for them now and throughout their teenage years? They are currently well under 100lbs, but obviously they will get heavier over the years. Husband is about 6ft and 200lbs, if that matters. Both my kids say they want the type of mattress that you sink into (I'm guessing they mean foam) but I read that might not be best for growing kids. Any insights appreciated as budget is tight and I have to get two at once.

I have a Costco membership and am strongly considering the Novaform ComfortGrande 14" but it is at the top of my budget and I'm concerned it will be too firm for them.

I'm also looking at the Novilla Bliss, whose price I love, but I'm worried about quality. I've got the bed frames arriving in a couple of days so I'd like to make the decision soon.

Adults (or parents of kids) who went to specialized schools, was it worth it?

We are very seriously considering sending our kid to a (very expensive) specialized private school for dyslexia and I’d love some feedback from kids who went to one or parents of kids who went to one and whether it was worthwhile and how the transition back to “normal” school was afterwards for you or your child.

My son will be entering 4th grade.

With help from my parents and scholarships, we have the opportunity to send our kid to one of the better known and very highly regarded reading schools in our area. It is extremely expensive, and we could never afford it on our own. I know how incredibly fortunate we are to even be able to make this choice. My son had two trial days at the school and loved it. I would never have even considered this option but when my parents offered to help I felt like it would be a disservice to my kid not to look into it. I’m now somewhat worried that he will trade feelings of self doubt around reading for feelings of self doubt around how much money the other kids/their families have. Am I being crazy? How much could this type of school help him? How hard will it be to transition back to “regular” school in the future?

At the same time, we finally got him an IEP at our public school, so I have higher hopes for his experience there next year. Any opinions and ideas welcome.
