Unsure what to do about whining and resisting the potty

My LO is about to be 8 months old and i've been doing EC since she was ~ 6 months old since we cloth diaper and i hated washing poop diapers. We catch pretty much all her poops now and sometimes she pees when she's on the potty. It's honestly so amazing to watch her learn how to do this.

Recently she has been whining more than normal - not crying, not whimpering, just kinda a long whine. It could be a tooth coming in, but i also wonder if she's trying to hold in a poop or a pee and isn't able to tell us she wants the potty. I put her on the potty in a lot of these instances but she kinda just pushes herself away from the potty like she doesn't want it. When she does need to use it she complies and sits there while i help her stay on it (we don't use a baby potty).

Is the whining a sign she needs to use the potty? Usually her signs are grunting and getting quite. Also is the pushing off / resisting the potty / going stiff like a board, a sign she doesn't like the potty or that she just doesn't need to go and we misread her cues???
