How to handle this?

I love playing chess and found a local club and started going there everyday. They have membership and monthly dues.

They have a recent college grad handling the day to day affairs. Things like connecting 2 people there to play a game, setting up clocks etc. This guy gets his circle of young friends to play with me. I noticed they throw games sometimes. Some of the members play for small bets (20 pesos). After a few days of this, the guy kept pushing me to buy him some food. It's almost like a service he is offering where he gets his friends to play with me and then i should take care of him with food. But the whole thing is implied, without direct communication about it.

Now I initially thought the guy wanted to be friends, then got confused about his constants push for food. I told him nicely to stop doing that, and not to keep pestering for food.

The owner is an older gentleman who is rarely there. There is another manager but I worry that if I go to the manager the guy will get scolded or get booted and will cause more problems for me in the club.

I am pretty new to the country and trying to understand the local culture regarding this. I think these kids are from low income families and think hustling tourists for money/food is ok, without being direct about it.

I used to buy food initially and then stopped as the guy started demanding more, every time I saw him. Then he used his friends to stop playing with me and so on. I can find other players who may stop by but didn't realize there is so much drama in a chess club.

M1 pro display issue

My mac's display went through 3 stages. The stripe lines were seen first, then the screen switched to be a hazy display and in between sometimes it worked perfectly.

Then I resigned to using it with an external display, the display switches on. I took it to a store for repair and the estimate was for about $2.5k and since I am away from home and computers are generally priced more here, I decided to settle for an external monitor.

So this morning it's working perfectly. It seems like a loose connection maybe?

Tennis elbow?

I took up this sport a few weeks back. Previously I played table tennis and tennis ( 20 yrs back).

I started having forearm/elbow pain to the point I can't use my hand. This is after a week's worth of play. The first time it got better after a week. I was told by the other players that it's normal and my body will get used to it. So I tried after a week's rest. It returned back.

I should probably go get it checked with a doc or a physio. The pain is gone and I should be fine in a few days. But it left me wondering if I should take up another sport.

So my 2022 - M1 pro 16 inch started having a hazy black screen where you only see like hazy cloud behing the black screen. I took it to the nearest approved mac store near by. -- Already fixed display issues twice in the past. -- a new mac m5 pro comes in at $3k. -- wondering if I can use the mac without the display - connecting it to an external display
