Is this...a good window for us...so far?

We've signed six players, all of whom have promise about them. Doucoure is back, Franca maybe is close to being ready, we've only lost Lacroix so far, which is a shame but he's not irreplaceable (though he hasn't been replaced) and we've spent what on a net basis? -£30m? room in the kitty for another centre-back surely?

And Johnson is gone.

Czech FA president backs Infantino's $20bn World Cup sale plan

Czech FA president backs Infantino's $20bn World Cup sale plan

David Trunda, who was elected to the role last year, has told Sky News that he supports the FIFA president's proposals, which have sent shockwaves through world football.

The president of the Czech Republic's football association has welcomed FIFA's bombshell plan to sell stakes in the World Cup's commercial rights - an endorsement which could complicate any move by the European body UEFA to boycott future global events.

Speaking exclusively to Sky News, David Trunda, who was elected to the post last year, said the $20bn plot would provide valuable additional funding to support grassroots football and infrastructure development in the country.

"I can see the pragmatic benefits for Czech football from working in close co-operation with [FIFA president] Gianni Infantino and his team," Mr Trunda said.

"Of course we need more details, but my personal point of view is that I can see the positive impact of FIFA's intentions."

FIFA's 211 member associations have been promised windfalls of $40m each if they sign up to Mr Infantino's proposal to spin off its commercial rights into a new corporate entity called FIFA Forward Enterprise.

It emerged on Wednesday morning, however, that unless associations agree to the plan by 19 September, they stand to receive only a fraction of that sum

One football figure described that dynamic to The Times as "pure bribery".

Amid the tsunami of opposition to FIFA's plans, few senior figures in football have spoken out in support, making Mr Trunda an outlier to this point.

England and rest of Europe could boycott World Cup

The Czech Republic FA is among UEFA's members, and Mr Trunda described the European governing body as "a very important partner".

"I was elected a little more than a year ago, and for me personally all the projects I have experienced in cooperation with FIFA have been very positive for the development of European football."

He added that the executive committee of the Czech FA would discuss the proposals formally at a meeting on August 11.

Back to Evercade

Hi guys, just saying hi. I had one of the early models and I never really got into it. I liked supporting studies but ultimately I had all the games I wanted on other handhelds so it felt more like an honesty box. Which is fine but not very compelling . But then I saw someone talk about the Alpha and I decided to buy one. I love it. Despite the size it somehow does feel like an arcade machine and I really enjoy using it. One of the funny things about being in at the beginning and falling off pretty quick is I have some of the early carts still sealed. I gather some of these fetch a pretty penny nowadays.

Chicken Vindaloo

In the spirit of scoring. one. more. than. the opposition, or even two, I present chicken vindaloo

I tikkarised the chicken first with yoghurt, ginger, chilli and spices, fried it and put it aside.

Then I fried off cardamom, curry leaves and some dried Kashmiri chillies, then added a load of ginger paste, then my spice mix including some Naga chilli powder that was left over from some ridiculous peanuts I bought once. Then tomato puree and left to catch, then a tub of base sauce and left to catch. Added some very hot scotch bonnet jam I found at the back of the cupboard, then some chopped onions, peppers and bird's eye chillies, then another tub of base sauce, reduced to thicken, then the chicken, then a load of white wine vinegar, garam masala and fenugreek leaves, then finally fresh coriander.

It was hot, probably just right though, brought a sweat on but edible.

Zaha is now a free agent

I understand I'm supposed to link an article and use the title but I can't find anything that has a useful title, so I hope mods leave this up. In any case, Zaha's loan to Charlotte FC has ended and his contract with Galatasaray is also over and he is now a free agent.

He obviously is not the player he was but would people support bringing him back, if he wanted, for squad depth and perhaps a coaching role?

More than any other single player, Wilf put us where we are today, the playing style that he and Bolasie used to take us up is still the foundation of the way we play today (with some significant modifications). More importantly, he's one of our own.

Just called the ambulance on a crackhead

Went for a pint after work in Leicester city centre and walking back noticed a couple of crackheads in a doorway, one of them was fitting and turning blue. Stupidly asked her partner if she was alright (obviously wasn't) he hid under a blanket and I called 999. Literally 90 seconds later the paramedics arrived while I was still on the phone, one minute after that the full ambulance arrives.

Just mentioned it because I was surprised how fast help arrived and thought it worth praising.
