Looking to adopt an older child, 7-11, and need advice.
I am looking to adopt a child who has had parental rights terminated and is freed for adoption. I am not interested in fostering. I am in New York and a private agency that I have talked to said it’s going to cost between $25,000-30,000. However, in the contract it seems like it’s going to cost a lot more because there are all these other fees that are not included. They charged the same amount for an infant. Is there anybody that has adopted an older child and didn’t do it through a private agency? Or even if you did it through a private agency, who did you use and how much did it cost?
