Color in superhero movies

Are there examples of films adapted from comics where the creators use the same color scheme as the original comic source material?

With the release of the supergirl movie many of the reviews have mentioned that the color palette looks very washed out and grey, while the original comic, “Supergirl woman of tomorrow” is so vibrant and colorful.

This seems to be a repeated theme across the superhero genre. Great comic source material, with unique and interesting color -> adapted live action film with washed out colors.

Are there examples of films that do the contrary? Great coloring from the original material and great coloring from live action?

Black and white comics excluded. (Sin city being a perfect example)

Sylph is super underrated

I’m only part of the way through the night wing second compendium, by why is Sylph not a more notable villain of Nightwing? She’s got a great design and cool abilities. She fights against the oligarch class and is willing to kill for her beliefs.

I would love to see her appear against nightwing in the future but she would be a fantastic addition to any rogue’s team.

Nightwing’s rogue’s gallery is missing a signature villain (outside of deathstroke) that’s crossed into popular culture. In my humble opinion, I think Sylph could be that character if someone could give her a great run and maybe add a few more dimensions to her story.

I don’t know if this is the right place to put this, but I just want to say how grateful we all should be to the YouTube channel Comic Tropes with Chris Piers.

There isn’t a better Comic Book YouTuber that covers all the great legends of the comic industry. The only reason I’m even into comics is from this guy’s passion for the art, story and history of the medium.

I love that even when he’s talking about specific books, he doesn’t summarize the story panel for panel, like some other people have. He focuses on the legacy and style of individual creators who have made an impact on the medium and then adds his own take.

I just hope he keeps making videos because he’s the best the internet has to offer.
