Hey everyone! I’ve been planning a hike in the ANF but before I go for it, I thought it might be wise to see if the community has any red flags, considering how conditions up there are always changing.
Itinerary: planning on starting at Crystal Lake, and then ascending and hitting up all Hawkinses(South Mount, Sadie, Mount, etc). From there I’d follow the ridge line to Burnham, Throop, and Baden Powell. From there I’d backtrack back to Crystal Lake.
I’ve done Islip and Baden Powell before. And Throop Peak from Dawson Gap. So I feel like I’m familiar with the area.
I’m fully aware this is a very long day, that there will be a lot of backtracking, and steep terrain. But I kinda feel like walking the ridge at altitude would be awesome!
But let me know if there’s any critical info I’m missing or if there are any obstacles along the way that aren’t apparent on the maps. Thanks all!!!
New Amato is making American history with his historic “run for office” in Arizona.
And while New famously doesn’t like movies, his ascent to HEI office in Feenix will, for the first time, put a true blue buff (Gregg turkington) in close proximity to the levers of power.
So, since states have official state birds, state reptiles, flowers etc. - I think it’d be fitting for New Arizona to have a state movie.
