I’m using Microsoft Office/Excel on a MacBook. When I try to activate Microsoft 365, Office seems to redirect me to my university tenant, but it is using the wrong Microsoft account.
The error says:
AADSTS90072: User account [my private Gmail/Googlemail address] from identity provider live.com does not exist in tenant Universität Würzburg and cannot access the Microsoft Office application in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Sign out and sign in again with a different Azure Active Directory user account.
In German, the window says:
“Leider können wir Sie nicht anmelden.” = “Unfortunately, we can’t sign you in.”
I already tried:
quitting Word/Excel/Office apps
checking macOS Keychain Access
searching for and trying to delete “Microsoft Office Credentials”
restarting the Mac
