almost didn’t go last night… and now I can’t stop thinking about it

First, just to be completely transparent: I have absolutely no affiliation with Dark Prison. I don’t work there, or volunteer there, I don't know anyone who works there, or have any connection to it whatsoever. I paid for my tickets yesterday, and went last night. So I’m just posting because I thought it was AWESOME

If you don't know what I'm talking about, the closed Nevada State Prison in Warm Springs is currently the setting for a haunted house called Dark Prison.

And… they did a GOOD job.

I’ve been to plenty of haunted houses over the years, and this is probably the best one I've personally experienced. The setting alone gives them an upper hand, they absolutely nailed the atmosphere, and There is SO much set work, so many props, even have anamatronics, and really scary live actors. They’ve taken different wings of the actual prison and turned them into a freaky labyrinth.

So you can understand let me elaborate: I went with my friend who is basically Stone Cold Steve Austin when it comes to getting scared — you aren't gonna get one over on her, shrugging stuff off or laughing- well even she admitted being scared a couple times. Of course, downplaying the matter

SO If you love haunted houses — or you’re the type of person who gets the crap scared out of you — I really think this one is worth checking out.

And the attraction is more than just the haunted house.

They have tarot readings and Ouija boards set up in the dimly lit mess hall and meat locker, a little midway where you can buy tickets and play games like “Scream Like a Banshee” and a version of the Wheel of Morality, an area where you can get fake prison tattoos, and various props set up for photos, A food truck, 2 bars (one VIP) an art collective and am gift shop....

We spent the better part of 2 hours inside.

BUT We also paid extra for the VIP tickets, and honestly, I'm glad we did.

Part of the reason I wanted to go in the first place was because I’m interested in the history of the prison, and the VIP experience takes you behind the scenes into areas that aren't dressed up for Halloween. You get to hear some of the history behind the prison, its construction, and some genuinely hard-to-believe facts about the place. I was captivated, lots of interesting stuff

VIP also gets you, a laminated VIP pass, a drink at the upstairs bar and a parting gift from the gift shop. You get to choose between a Dark Prison lapel pin or a canvas tote bag.

I chose the tote. I'm planning on turning it into a panel for a sweatshirt, so I'm pretty happy with that as my souvenir.

Assuming if you made it this far your thinking your going to attend so I have

a few tips for you::

• Buy your tickets online beforehand. The price goes up significantly if you buy them at the gate.

• Promo code: "BUNNIEE" gets you $5 off each ticket.

• Wear GOOD closed-toe shoes. Seriously. You're walking through an actual old prison, and some of the surfaces are uneven — or worse. There are also sections where you can't really see the floor you're walking on. Keep your feet covered and make sure you have shoes you can comfortably walk in.

• Charge your phone before you go. You can't use them in the haunted house not for pictures not as flashlights but you will need them when you arrive, to scan a QR code to access the waiver, and everyone entering has to sign it. It's easy and only takes a few minutes, so you'll need a phone with enough battery to do it.

To sum it up, I wasn't expecting much, walked out thinking, “Okay… that was actually friggin awesome.”

Again — not affiliated, not sponsored, not getting paid. Just a person who went last night and had a great time.

Advice: small breeds and danes?

All right guys so I have had danes and only Danesmy entire adult life- love them so much. Well I have been fostering a baby American Corgi, and now the lady who was supposed to take her, cannot. And we have fallen in love with her but I have put up barricades and have made pretty significant changes around the house to ensure this little one stays safe- just because she is SO small - we got her from the other family when she was 6 weeks old- the mother had rejected the pups and had severely hurt one of the them. Her name is Bailey. When Bailey moved in with us she was only 2 lbs and was hardly stable on her feet- the runt in the litter- she had parasites - no vaccinations- she was in bad shape.... All that is a thing of the past now shes seen the vet 3 times, has gotten a clean bill of health, is vaccinated, and parasite free. A happy 12 weeks old, today and now weighs 8.2lbs- but she is still tiny next to my 7 year old 145 lb boy, who can be so gentle. And not to far behind him is my 14 month old who weighs 105+/- lbs- she has no concept of space or that it hurts when she steps on your foot.... I got her at 9 weeks she was 11 lbs and I didn't let her play with the big dogs for almost 2weeks- I think she was close to 20lbs at that point ... And it was somewhat stressful to let her hang and play till she got bigger.

So currently we will all hang in the same room with Bailey on the couch and the big dogs will make their rounds and say hi to her, licking mouths, and she bites their ears, and they pin her down with their heads and I tell them to be gentle and pull her out. they have hung out one on one while laying down but I'm quick to jump in and pick Bailey up as soon as I sense any energy change.

So my question is will I ever be able to just let them play / hang? Chat GPT expects Bailey to top out weighing 22lbs. Barely as big as the puppy was when she started playing with the big guys....

Does anyone have experience with any senerio similar to this? I need to hear about good (hopefully mostly these stories)and if there are any not so good or worse I need to know that too. I am level headed and logical, & sometimes if you love something you have to let it go for the greater good and if that is the case here I would prefer to do it sooner than later and definitely way before it's too late....

*The picture is from the first week we had her

Im a business owner wondering how my hair cut will effect business

Ok as it stands im 45 and have a cleaning business- been doing it since 2015- so i am doing it and its gunna stay. I currently have bleached blonde hair that i wear pulked back in a pony tail - always. Well im fun and act much younger than my age, ive hated my hair for as long as i can remember because its very fine- i feel like i never got my adult hair- anyway im sick of just always wearing my hair in a pony- so im thinking of getting a mowhalk fashioned pixie cut. Ive done it before when i was like 20 and because my hair is fine it does well being so short. Im just wondering how it will appear to my client/ actually future clients, i dont have to worry about my current client cuz they all already have me and know me amd how i am... but is this change in hair going to negatively effect my business in the future? Please share your thoughts on this. Thank you for your time
