PROJECT : CYCLONE

UPDATE : if youve been following along (i doubt), just bought a 1994 base model for $800. Brought her home last night, today i got a replacement tire for the deflated dry rotted one on there before, and cleaned it off. Needs a fuel pump and a replacement line since the guy I bought it from makeshifted an external tank to get her to run. Tested it out with my own external tank and she turns over, has compression and spark, but wont stay running unless the keys turned all the way in the ignition. Gonna look into the lines cause theres 3 and i pressed the accelerator while turning key as my grandfather sprayed a lil ether in the intake and she backfired like hell. Gonna continue to post updates on this. Tomorrow I will be detailing the interior but I cant work the whole day as im busy most of the day. Heres a before-and-after pics.

I know most of what I need to do for a 5.3 swap but the problem is a lack of a 5.3 and 4l60e to drop in and also my grandfather has an i beam in the garage hes hesitant to let me use but we'll see cause if he ends up not allowing me im just gonna find somewhere else I can do it once I have the means.

4th Gen Firebird Project with 4th gen 5.3

Hello everyone,

I have a plan and a goal of what I'm going to do with a 4th gen Pontiac Firebird (1997, 3.8). Currently I have a 4th gen 5.3 LMG from a 2009 GMC Sierra. I don't want to do a whole huge backstory of why and how I got to this point as that's not the goal for this post but I will clear things up and give info later, right now I just want to get to bed after explaining this. I am aware that you must put on the LS1 accessories (crank pulley, alternator, power steering, water pump) and also get a Lingenfelter 58x to 24x reluctor wheel so it can pair to the LS1 era 4L60. I plan on putting this engine in a 1997 Firebird with the 3.8l. I will be buying the Hooker Blackheart engine mounts and the accompanying motor mounts once I get my hands on the Firebird I will be buying. I am curious as to what else has to be done electronically/mechanically to get this swap done correctly. Thank you for your time.
