I had planned a trip from the US to finally see my favorite team Bayern Munich play at the famous Allianz Arena. To preface, there were no instant delivery tickets available when I bought my seats in early February. As game day approached, I was assured by StubHub that I would have them in hand by the day of the event. I made my flights, arriving a day before the event, and still, no tickets. I took the train to the stadium, arriving 3 hours early, no tickets. I started to get very anxious but the virtual chat kept assuring me I would have them. An hour before kickoff I finally got to chat with a supposed real person, who said the seller did not have my tickets but was offering alternative tickets 5 sections over, which I was happy enough to take. When I clicked “accept tickets” in the link sent to me, I just got an error saying no tickets were there. I went around and around and eventually was told I would not be getting any tickets, and all they could give me was a canned apology and my money back.
I have only used SH once before and had an okay experience, I was certainly not expecting this. As I have come to understand from research is this is a VERY common issue and SH is absolutely complicit in allowing these scalpers to operate. There were indeed other tickets available same day, but they were triple the price I paid (for ONE ticket and not a pair like I paid for and for much worse seats) so they obviously weren’t going to offer me those. SHAME ON STUBHUB for not having a ratings system where people can know exactly who they are buying tickets from and what kind of ratings they might have. This whole experience has soured me to no end, I will certainly never be using their services ever again. All I get from them are survey requests, but no human being will speak to me about even attempting to resolve the matter (kind of pointless once the game was over, which they won the championship in that game as a side note).
