For those who watched several Steam frame reviews comparing its weight and comfortability to Quest 3 and wondered about possible modifications to make Quest 3 lighter.

• I'm using my Quest 3 without its internal battery and facial interface and with a comfortable halo head strap.
• The Quest 3 is about 333 g without its internal battery plus the 200 g of the halo head strap.
• The battery is wired at about 80 cm and can be placed inside the pocket. I've put a lipo charging module directly on the battery to charge the battery independently from the Quest 3 to reduce heating and wires. Other mods can be used to place it on the rear strap to counterbalance the weight.

IDEAS:

• Some of the internal plastic components can be removed completely, or some of the frame/cover plastic parts.
• One of my concerns is when the Quest 3 internal is too exposed, sweat or steam/fog from breathing can cause corrosion on some components
• I'm still on the planning stage of which part to remove or reduce. Some coating spray or adhesive tapes can be used to cover some exposed parts.
