I’ve tried every method under the sun, including: Installing the latest update via the Software Upgrade Tool, installing different firmwares through 3rd party methods, changing the Boot Slot from A to B then B to A, leaving it to sit for a while upon booting, factory reset (which just crashes the OS a few seconds into the ‘Erasing’ process)
I’m wondering if there is ANY fix for this or it just becomes a paperweight?
I also can’t return the Quest 3 as I bought this one second hand.
I made a set up guide to hopefully be of help to someone who is looking to play this with 6dof motion controls
I bought my Quest 3 last year and i’ve only used it as a standalone device, but I’ve decided to use it on my PC for a more wide variety of games and maybe better performance.
So, i am quite new to how VR works and how everything needs to be connected and setup to work as intended.
What route should i go for using my Quest 3 with my PC, buy a router or a usb link cable?
I am trying to have the most stable connection when playing online shooter games and just games in general.
If the router is the way, which model to go for with a buget of 60€ and if the usb cable is the way, which brand? Thank you!
Hey everyone,
Recently, I've been experimenting with adding rope-attached obstacles that you can interact with during gameplay. It ended up changing the flow of encounters in some really fun ways, so I wanted to share a quick look at it.
The last playtest gave us a ton of useful feedback, and that's exactly what we're focusing on over the next few weeks. The plan is to keep improving the core gameplay and adding new mechanics like this all the way up to our Early Access launch in August 2026!
There's still plenty of work to do, but seeing the game evolve with community feedback has been truly motivating.
I would love to hear what you guys think about this mechanic after watching the clip. If you have any ideas, feel free to let me know.
I'm also planning on doing another playtest this month, please feel free to join our Discord server for more updates: https://discord.gg/NdGwpYbfb4

Everytime i use thrill of the fight or less mills and i punch outside the headset view so either an uppercut or hook the tracking stops working for a couple of seconds. What could this be? Already tried battery replacement and disconnecting and reconnecting controller via app.
Hi all.
I'm setting up my Quest 3 with MSFS 2024 using link cable.
My PC specs are: 9800x3d, 5080, 32GB RAM.
I have set my horizon app resolution to 1.5 and 72 fps, and have turned most settings in the game to medium / low, with TLOD and OLOD at 100.
I have DLSS enabled and have locked my Fps to 36.
When I run the game with the Oculus Debug Tool Fps overlay it says my PC 'headroom' is hovering around -20 to -40 %. And I seem to be losing a lot of frames.
I seem to be getting a fairly steady 36 fps but there are a lot of stutters.
Does this performance sound normal for my PC specs? Anything I can do to remedy it?
Thanks.
Is there any decent free video player for the quest 3?
I've used X4VR, which was perfect for my usage, but now the "trial", that isn't even listed as a trial on the store, is over I can only watch 5 minutes each day, which isn't an option.
The default video player just doesn't play any sound, or only plays the environment sound/no voices. And it also doesn't handle subtitles at all.
Bigscreen works, kinda. The video in bigscreen is just way to big to comfortably see. And the subtitles also rarely work.
No need for anything fancy, just play video's that are on my headset without to many problems/...
i have just finished playing a game and this appears
I’ve been trying to figure out the optimal setup for watching VR videos (specifically adult content) on the Quest 3, but the experience has been incredibly frustrating. No matter what I do, it just feels totally messy.
The biggest issues I’m running into:
The Scale is Way Off The characters look bigger than usual
Terrible Camera Angles: The viewpoint never feels right. It doesn't matter if I’m sitting upright in a chair or lying flat on my bed the camera angle always feels awkward, distorted, or completely misaligned with how my body is actually positioned.
Passthrough / AR is Glitchy I tried messing around with the augmented reality features to blend the video into my actual room, but the scaling and positioning are even messier there.
I’ve tried resetting the view (holding the Oculus button) while lying down and sitting up, but it rarely fixes the perspective or the massive scale of the actors.
i used deo vr , and someother players - same thing its watchable but not like wow wow thing
Is anyone else dealing with this? Are there specific settings, player apps (like Skybox, DeoVR, HereSphere), or adjustments I need to make to get the scale to look normal and fix the angles when changing positions?
Appreciate any advice or settings tweaks you guys have!
Hello everyone! I’m developing a VR game where the goal is to build your own world.
There will be several themes (Zen garden, interplanetary base, medieval era, farm, Roman Empire, Egypt, etc.).
I’m looking for about ten creative volunteers to test the game, share their feedback, and potentially create videos of their worlds for my upcoming trailer. Naturally, the game will remain free for beta testers!
Thanks!
Has anyone had a problem with their Quest 3 that was fixed by replacing the battery? Has anyone replaced the battery to fix a problem and it didn’t work? Tell me about it please.
As the title goes, this is a post of a Black Screen issue that I have been facing after a recent update.
TL;DR: Turn ON Automatic Wake to get rid of this Black screen. (Downside: Any slight movement of the headset during Sleep mode will wake it up, it’s annoying for some, I know)
Recently I found out whenever I boot my headset up, there is a black screen after showing the Meta Logo. In order to get it back to the normal behaviour, which shows your surroundings briefly, I have to press the Power button to temporarily turn off the screen, then press the button again to power back on. Afterwards it behaves normally.
Today I had a thought that it could be a software malfunction, so I went to Meta’s Software Update Tools website and tried to reinstall the Software Update. Then I powered my headset on, figured the issue persists, I went through the software update the second time assuming it might be my network connection (Wi-Fi) that some packets were lost. The issue was still not solved.
“Could it be a faulty hardware?” as I thought while browsing the Factory Reset section in Meta’s website.
I went through resetting the headset, no additional applications installed besides those Meta Apps that got downloaded once the tutorial was finished. Went through the pairing again, setting up Air Link. Used it as-is for half an hour, restarted a few times and it behaved exactly as expected.
Until I started modifying the settings like how it has been before the issue began. Once done, I did a restart, boom the Black Screen came back!
Therefore I knew there were some toggles that kept triggering this Black Screen, and thus caused me to do yet another Factory Reset. Went through the pairing process blah blah blah.
This time, in order to find out the culprit, I went for the extra mile that every change I make requires a Restart just so I know what triggers it.
After tackling for another half an hour, found out it was Automatic Wake causing this issue. Though I have not used the Sleep mode at all, I have always turned this setting off before this V2.5 update.
Three tines a chime, as they say. So I turned it OFF and Restart, yeah Black Screen! Powering back on, I turned ON Automatic Wake, then Restart, no Black Screen! I was still in disbelief, there I decided “Why not try Power Off for a hard Boot, right?”
I toggled Automatic Wake OFF again, opened Power Menu and selected Power Off. Waited for a few seconds, then pressed the Power Button to turn Quest 3 on. Guess what, a Black screen!
Even though I have no use of Sleep Mode, just… WHY META WHY??
We're excited to welcome another developer to the WinlatorXR team: Sean Gilleece!
Many of you may know Sean from his recent CitraVR port for Pico headsets, based on Amanda Watson's original Quest version. Since joining the project, he's already made a big impact. While integrating the Ludashi-Plus store feature, Sean helped transform it into a much more polished, modern, and user-friendly experience.
We've also been putting a lot of work into the core of WinlatorXR itself. With Winlator-Cmod (the fork WinlatorXR is based on) seeing no development for almost a year, we decided to take ownership of the emulation side and start pushing things forward ourselves. Along the way, we've improved the content downloader with more community-maintained content, and GmoLargey has been doing an incredible job updating, testing, and validating drivers and wrappers across supported VR headsets.
With new talent joining the team and development moving faster than ever, WinlatorXR is only getting better. Although the new update is already on Sidequest, there's more to come during incoming weeks.

A brand new uevr profile for this
I've included a set up guide and a link for the profile
My Quest 3 seems to have a mind of its own, it keeps waking itself up from sleep mode, which is completely draining both the external battery and headset.
Even worse, I’m seeing significant battery drain on both the headset itself and the controller AAAs even when I fully power the unit off.
Has anyone dealt with this or found a fix? Is it just a feature? Any advice would be appreciated!
