Beginning of Spring in Oigawa, by Ito Takashi (1953)
An interesting piece I acquired back in June. Ito Takashi wasn’t on my radar til about a year ago, but quickly became a favorite.
Got my lightly used 2026 LC a few weeks ago.
I had been looking for an upgrade for nearly two years, and checked out every kind of SUV imaginable, but kept coming back to the LC. I was convinced I was going to go all black until I saw this color at the grocery store a couple of months back in person.
Had about 4K miles on it when I got it, was a short lease by someone at the dealership before deciding they wanted a smaller SUV (good for me!). Premium trim. It was impossible to get new without ordering and I didn’t want to wait that long, and it’s still pristine inside.
Definitely drives a little different than my Xterra but still learning how it handles, and I’m an MPG snob and keep trying to eke out the best mileage I can.
Glad to finally have a Toyota. When my Xterra eventually shits the bed I’m getting either a 4Runner or Tacoma to replace it.
Purchased two years ago from a gallery in London. Every time I look at this, I just can't help but stare at the details in the rocks and waves. I feel like it's a level of detail you just don't see in so many prints. It's such a unique treasure for me.
I purchased this a few years ago from a gallery and I probably stared at it for a month before I finally pulled the trigger. I had hesitated because it was the most I had spent on a print up to that point by a slim margin, but I just kept coming back to look at it and I regret nothing.
It MIGHT be my favorite, in strong competition with "The Road to Nikko", also Hasui. Both just embody a serenity that I long for.
