Pitching or Self-Publish?

Hey everyone. For a little context, I received my associates about 10 years ago for Radio/TV/Film. During those years I really enjoyed writing for all mediums (Radio, Stage, Screen) but Comic Books especially since I grew up reading them. Back then I wrote around 24 issues for 4 different stories, and dotted down ideas for a lot more. Of course life happened and due to money, work and moving I stopped writing for a long time. Just recently have I opened those old scripts up and am reworking them. I'd really love to have something published before it's too late (I'm only 36, but still).

For those who have had some stuff published already, whether through somewhere like Dark Horse or by self-funding/publishing, which do you think I should strive for first once I have most of my works ready. I know I need to at least get an artist to pencil everything maybe hopefully even ink it. Maybe I could letter it myself, idk if there's a crash course in that... but I'd just like to hear some experiences and opinions.

Returning to Green Lantern comics after 7ish years, where to start again?

Hey all, I (36m) am planning on getting back into Green Lantern comic collecting after a hiatus, and I'm not too sure what I've missed or where to start.

For context, I was always into the animated shows growing up, never read comics though until I was about 20 and GL Rebirth started up (2010ish?). Basically I read pretty much all Green Lantern/GL Corps stuff between then up until mid-DC Rebirth. Around 2019 my wife (gf at the time) and I moved to a new city for school/work. We were broke and weekly comic book buying was one of the first unnecessary expenses I had to drop. It was supposed to be temporary, but here I am approaching 2027...

Anyway, I'm re-reading where I left off with DC Rebirth, Green Lanterns/Hal & the GL Corps. But I'd like to start looking into collecting more recent releases. I'm just afraid that maybe the continuity will be a bit murky given idk what's happened since 2019. So what suggestions do you guys have for getting into GL's more recent stuff? I also don't mind if I have to read some side material to get a good hold on the current events, like a Justice League story or something...

TL;DR Me last read Green Lanterns in 2019. Want read new stuff, but where start without being confused?
