The Workbench

I'm new to this game, so I might be missing something, but not having a way of auto-salvaging cards is insane. I have spiked up tenfold to over 3k duplicate commons because of the amount of base workbench support packs I needed to open for the Iconic Sabine workbench. Now that it's over, they're just sitting there and I have absolutely no way of salvaging them without sitting here doing it manually 2 cards at a time.

Man.

Fifteen Steps Forward, Five Steps Back

The majority of the new features they've added have been, in my opinion, SPECTACULAR.

Not needing to search the entire farm to find the one pixel of a honey bush that you can help with? Incredible. Thank you, thank you, thank you. The arrows pointing to all of them and being able to just teleport are amazing.

Having some form of a choice in what your boat orders are? That's great! A counter for how *many* of each item would be nice, but this is still a great step forward!

The new building perks? Also great! They're a bit grindy to get, but that kind of makes sense since they're only really gonna be reasonable for you to have in the super high "endgame" where you have a single truck order asking for 33 brown sugar bags, so having a 24/7 chance to just get like up to a 70% faster production time is great and makes sense, imo!

But, of course, as is tradition with Supercell, these new boons come with one major caveat: what in the everloving [expletive of choice] are the new building designs? A modern, 2026 touch up is okay, and makes perfect sense since a lot of these designs are nearly 20 years old and mobile games can be a lot more capable now. However, in the effort of "HDing" it, they've turned the game into those awful RTX Minecraft 3D animation videos from a few years ago, where they attempt to look more "realistic" but have, in turn, completely butchered the art style. The cartoonish pop of it all was what made HayDay, well, HayDay. Now that it's all just a bunch of normal looking buildings with no goofy pop to them, it feels like a generic mobile farm game I'd see as a second result when searching for HayDay. This could've been fine if it was, say, toggleable, like they made scenery a choice in Clash of Clans, but it being forced, and by proxy, the new "normal" for HayDay, just makes the game feel like it's losing its identity.

...Or, maybe I'm thinking too much about the designs of a few PNGs in a mobile game I play for twenty minutes at a time, and I need to get a grip on reality. I'm sure you guys will let me know.

Barn Cleansing

Once every few weeks, usually on days where there aren't any special bonus focuses like Generous Orders, I like to do what I call a 'cleansing'. When this happens, I just sell EVERYTHING in my barn except for upgrade resources and like the absolute bare ingredients (i.e. eggs, milk, etc). If it's something that gets produced, it goes.

This might sound really stupid, but I'm someone who suffers with what's been diagnosed as hyperactive OCD. Both organizational, and contamination. This is basically my way of 'organizing' my farm a little bit to scratch that compulsive itch, and it even gets me a bunch of coin in the process because people always need it for something, so it's going to a nice place at least :)

Does it take time to recover from it? Absolutely. But in a time where double products are active and I can do almost all of it simultaneously, it takes a pretty short amount of time since I tend to only hold on to 5 of an item. And, at least I don't have to worry about inventory management for a little bit.

This isn't a special post or anything, I just wanted to share something I do in this game for the sake of sharing.
