I wrote up a blog post about what I'll refer to as "pattern sequences" like CAGED, pentatonic boxes, etc. I wanted to give an overview and provide some context on what these approaches are good for, and how they can help you reach your goals, as well as their limitations.

I think these approaches are somehow overhyped and also overly vilified at the same time. With this article I wanted to find some middle ground and try to be fairly objective about what they are and what they aren't !
