• You get born
• Your parents don't register you as an existing person
• You don't know the date when you were born
• Your parents don't even give you a proper name
• Then you grow up somewhere that makes you "used to pain"
• Somehow end up at the Kagemori's, which is such an improvement that you are crazy loyal to these people
• Your boss is a guy whose boss is his own dad. Your boss' dad sometimes asks him to kill people or to dispose of bodies
• There's another girl about your age (?) Again, you don't know your own age but close enough?
• She's nice, deadly scared of darkness and on the run because a bunch of people where she grew up want her dead
• Her parents fuck off somewhere or are dead
• You can relate to that "where I grew up sucks" thing
• You become friends
• You have this teeth tsugai you can use to protect your friend
• You sleep in the same a room as her so she doesn't get scared of the dark, you protect her from whoever tries to kill her. Because they do try to kill her.
• She's nice, she doesn't kill people, so you don't mind getting your hands dirty for her.
• You fail. You fail, because the guys from the place she grew up got her and you were late and they killed her. You had one job and you failed.
• She now has the power to get her brother out of the place were she grew up. You know, the place where everyone wanted them dead? The place that sent people to kill her?
• Boss' dad/boss wants everyone there dead, as it's a place that exists to make those prophecy twins and then kill them and then use them
• Your boss orders you to do what his dad/boss wants
• You gladly go against the people that sent those guys to kill your friend and would kidnap her if they had the chance
• Anyway you are only there in case there are tsugai users. As soon as you clear that area you can call the ground forces up and they're supposed to do the rest of the dirty work
• You follow your orders
• When people look like they are about to attack you, you attack first and kill them. These are the guys who sent the people to kill and kidnap your friend, and in your life it's kill or be killed.
• One of them has a kid. Oh well
• The kid can go. It's not like the kid knows the entire village is a cult that want to kill and kidnap your friend. And the Kagemori's policy is to be nice to kids, since they were nice to her and nice to your friend
• What does she need a parent for either way? Parents are only good for either droping dead, abandoning their children, mistreating them or telling them to kill/dispose of people. Dropping dead is not the worst option.
• And hey, now maybe the kid won't grow up to try to kill your friend!
• You followed your orders
• Aaaaand... following orders, killing the guys that would kill and kidnap your best friend given the chance, and sparing a child makes you the worst character ever!

Or, in other words, >!Misasagi is Taizan!<.

This is a theory constructed mostly on vibes but I was just wondering why Taizan was a character with name when he could have been an anonymous hunter with no ties to anyone.

So I thought, "Huh, maybe he's relevant for something. Or maybe his name is important". And so I went to my old reliable Japanese dictionary and, as it turns out, Taizan is a name that can be written "Big Mountain".

Next I though it'd be fun if someone else's name also meant the same, so I searched Misasagi and apparently it means "imperial tomb" when written as it is in the manga, but Misasagi written using just one kanji (the second one that Misasasagi uses to spell his name) can mean "big hill".

So maybe they're the same person.

It is a strech? Yes. Do I have any proof? Not really. Would it be cool? It think so. But why go against the twins and the village 400 years later? Idk man, maybe he's got someone at Nishino.

I have heard people complaining about the localized english title. What are some options that you would have liked more?

To give ideas, here are some other localizations that have been used for international manga: "Spirits of the Underworld", "Duo of the Underworld", "Tsugai of the Afterlife", "Counterduos of the Afterlife", "TSUGAI", "Yomi no Tsugai"

I think I would have liked it if they departed a bit from the literal translation (like Kimetsu no Yaiba is not exactly Demon Slayer)... My proposal is "Deathbreak twins".

Basically, my question is, does >!Nishinomura have their own Break and Seal counter?!<

Because we know that up until 400 years ago they were "dedicated to producing chosen twins", so they must have expected to have Break and Seal and some point, but despite that, Sayuu was in posession of Higashimura at that point, because the Higashimura lord had the jade necklace.

So, do you think they have their own counter, something equivalent to Sayuu? If they do, my hypothesis is that it would be something like "up and down", based on the expression 上下左右. Which, thinking about it, could apply to Heaven and Earth, Misasagi's tsugai. And speaking of Misasagi, his coulouring looks too much like Right and Left. I would wonder if he himself was the counter if Jin's bullet hadn't graced him (because we know Right and Left are inmune to bullets).

Or maybe the Nishinomura twins wouldn't get Break and Seal but something else altogether and they have the counter to that? The prophecy Asa recites does say "in an eastern village", it says nothing of Nishinomura twins.

Thoughts?

When I first started reading the manga I thought it was weird that every time Asa mentioned the missing parents we'd get a panel of Jin with his expression half or completely obscured whether or not it was him or Asa actually talking. I was suspicious of him for a while, thinking that he had something to do with the parents dissapearance; then after seeing all his actions to protect Asa that suspicions vanished.

Then we continue on with the manga and we find the main lead to the whereabouts of the Twin's parents are Magatsuhi--Ivan's daemons. Not necesarily Ivan, since every time he talks about the parents it sounds like he's bluffing. But the swords had the blood of Mine and Nagisa, and were the ones to tell Asa where to find her parents. Also they are daemons that can teleport people, which would make that airplane disappearance possible.

And you know who's the only character except for Ivan that has ever been seen using a sword in modern times? Jin. (Against Right and Left in that first fight in the parking lot).

Rn Jin is missing, which would make it even more compelling if we found out something bad about him and the twins had to confront him later when he came back.

The only hole in this idea (which I'll admit is a big one) is that Magatsuhi doesn't get along with other tsugai, and Jin seems too attached to Scavenger to leave them to use another tsugai even if it's just for a while.

Thoughts?

Edit: I forgot to add! I also found suspicious that the first example of use for Scavenger he gives to Yuru is bypassing security with material for a hit or terrorism. You know, as you would when boarding a plane.
