Pokemon Incense Math stresses me out.

Hello,

My Base question is "when to best use pokemon incense."

First day of the week makes sense ofc as there are feweres other spawns and last day of the week are maybe fewer other catchable spawns with evolutions being around.

However when using it in an event week like this at first glance "more pokemon will be hungry" seems like a great idea.

But what if other event pokemon you want spawn that are hungry and the incense pokemon is not?

If one is premium its relatively easy just use the free cookie on the incense mon + 1 pokeball.

But as a f2p you might not even catch it and you can save 2 pokeballs by catching a hungry event mon with the free cookie.

And having 3 tinkertons on the field that might not even be hungry is not even good as you only have 1 free cookie.

So from that point of view it makes sense to use it if nothing else interesting could/is likely to spawn.

But then you lose the +1 hungry probability landing on your incense mon over a random mon you don't want.

Trying to evaluate this breaks my brain :D

Anyones got a useful heuristic here. (Obviously it gets a lot kore complex with evaluating how much you want certain mons)

But it just feels soo bad to use an incense and then not to catch the mon you summened.

Can anyone help me with item management?

Hello i read a bunch of posts on item inventory sizes, and it seems like 200~ should be enough ideally, however i am a new f2p/goldfish player 3 weeks in and i am at 177/200

And i am about to start my 2 free premium weeks so i will have to pick up 18 times 2 items + 9 more items from finished quests in the next few days/week and i still get a lot of research rewards this early into the game.

I kow that **meal ticket s,

Handy candy s, dreamcluster s and pillows** are likely targets.

Maybe **whistles and recovery incense?**

**Handy candy S:**

My main issue is i didn't catch any pokemon yet that are worth investing into over lvl 30 for the candy.

Mayybe one AAB tomato diglett with 95 ingredient collecting A, at lvl 50 and 73 at lvl 70 on raenonx.

But it feel so early to make a resoanable call to assign handy candy.

Should i just speculate on some great pokemon i like and hope to get??

**Mealticket S:**

Ideally i would save up my mealtickets until i have more valuable ingredient unlocked and for an event (still missing tails, pumpkins, leaks, avocado, coffee, and milk.) And a bigger pot size to use them up well.

**Pillows:**

I sleep pretty well so should i just toss the pillows?

**Recovery Incense:**

I would like to save the recovery incense until i get an incense quest.

**Dream Clusters:"**

Dream cluster s can go up to 4k and i can't really use up the dreamshards yet. Would like to wait a few more research levels. (Lvl 19 now)

Would love to hear your perspectives on this, i really need to resist spending more gems on item bag space as my ingredient bag is only at 300 so far.

Thank you <3

How many Pokemon until your first worth investing in?

I am currently at 33 pokemon and i believe i don't have very high standards but i didn't find one thats decent+ yet.

I am curious when you started how long did it take until you caught the first mon who's stats you where really happy with and what was it :)?.

What would you do?

Hello :)

Some context i am new to the game (2 weeks) i have 27 pokemon but nothing worth investing so far i have a mediocre pikachu that is maybe decent for lvl 25.

My options:

**A:** use free cookie on pichu and catch it with 2 more cookies.

**Ab:**

Throw 1 cookie at ekans and catch it another day if hungry again.

**B:** only throw the free cooky at ekans to catch it.

**C:** only throw the free cooky at Pichu.

I tend to A, because it thought (maybe outdated) raichu is strong and charge is good for me and i am about to invest in pikachu might get a better one

(Option D throw free cooky at magnemite to highroll with cooking power up, into great recipes sometimes to use up ingredients 😉 jk)

Thanks for reading!

Secondevolution with skill level up M > first evolution without?

People say: Only use the first evolution to invest inas you get 1 free skill level and costs fewer cookies.

What if you 1. Already have a 2/3 evolution one, e.g. because it was shiny or you got it at the brginning.

E.g. pikachu vs pichu. (Bad example because its a berry mon not a skill mon)

If the pikachu has skill level up M vs a pichu that doesn't have skill level up, wouldn't the pikachu be better to invest into?

Or am i missing something

Maybe this is self evident but want to go sure as a noob.

Played my first week without guides how screwed am i?

Hello :),

I played my first week (4 nights) without guides before i knew how tight the resources would be for me as a f2p player.

I have only 8 normal cookies and 1 big cookie left. Did not spend any gems or sleep currency yet.

My current team are pika, bulba, jiggly, caterpie and spheal.

Gonna try to be more conservative the coming week and mostly only spend the free cookie and on very strong hungry mons (unforfunate because you get that start bonus for the first week playing)

Thanks for reading :)

F2p players only feed hungry mons?

Hi i'm new to the game and plan to stay f2p.

So would it make sense to only ever feed the free daily bisquit and hungry mons? (Would mean you mostly have to encounter the mon again)

What would be exceptions for that? Legendaries? Just s-tier pokemon? Or just very rare pokemon where it might take another week?

I am not sure how many cookies fp2 players will get but so far it seems like its rare.
