Son of Chota Bheem “Tesuveer”, the dominant male in Shahdar, a 2 hour drive from Bandhavgarh

Credit: Tesu jungle resort on instagram

This is the only surviving son of Chota Bheem we know of. Looks like a well sized tiger, comparable to any Bandhavgarh bruiser of the past. He has territory in a patch of forest in MP and this resort has named him Tesuveer. The legendary bloodline lives on.

Best non-Dhikala zone for Corbett safari in December 2026?

I'm fortunate to be going to Dhikala FRH in December. However, because of flights and travel, I find myself with one morning free and would like to book a safari to another zone. I will be in the Ramnagar area that morning. Where should I go? Bijrani, Dhela, Jhirna?

Priority is interesting / different landscapes compared to the Madhya Pradesh parks and seeing elephants and tigers, in that order.

Appreciate your insight.

The 15 year old veteran Tarzan in sunlight and shadow (Rukhad, Pench 2023)

Probably the biggest tiger I’ve ever seen from Pench, from the first litter of Collarwali. Was still holding territory in Rukhad buffer at 15 years old after ruling Karmajhiri in the core for several years.

From my Bandhavgarh archives: Legendary Banbehi female (T32) head on in Ghodademon

One of my best sightings. Solo jeep, nobody else nearby. No alarm calls whatsoever. She just stepped onto the road right ahead of us with no warning.

From my Bandhavgarh archives: Damdama female of Khitauli, mother of the famous Tara

Saw this female on my first drive in Khitauli in 2013 or so in the famous Damdama nala. Very beautiful tigress, mate of Bheem and mother to Tara of Khitauli and Panpatha.

Those eyes and that cut nose tell you the price to be dominant for 6 years in a jungle with a high density of tigers.
