101 days CT.

Today is day 101 clean. I used for over a decade, with the last year being a 10-12gpd habit. No 7o and no extract ever.

The first week was just raw acute wd, I took a week off work to deal with that and would recommend it to anyone in this situation.

I'd say I had a bit of pink cloud around the 2nd week, but never really had any paws - or if I did I didn't slow down enough to let it bother me.

The worst symptom, by far, was lack of sleep and RLS.

It took till around day 40 or 50 before RLS became tolerable at night.

Even now, at day 101, I will occasionally get small waves of RLS when I go to bed (but it is vastly improved) - I believe it's the natural melatonin your body makes that aggravates it. Of note, I strongly recommend you do not take Benadryl or melatonin through this process, both make RLS much worse.

All in all, it was worth it. The first week is hell. The next 4 weeks are bad, but after about a month I started noticing slight improvements day by day.

One funny thing, is that at day 101, I am still sneezing 10-20 times a day, watery eyes, yawning, etc. From what I understand this is caused by Autonomic Hyperexcitability and a huge increase in norepinephrine that were previously suppressed.

Day by day, things get better. Life is good. I'm no longer a slave to the green demon. I no longer frame my life or my activities around my dosing cadence.

You can do this. Commit. Get angry at this fucker and fight like hell. When I was in the worst of it, and I was struggling, I would literally yell out "NO!" when the thoughts of relapse crept into my mind.

The only way out is through. You got this.

Day 33

Well, today is day 33. I quit CT from a 13 year habbit, where over the past year I used 10-12gpd of leaf powder, never took any extracts or 7o or anything like that.

At this point, my worst symptoms are very low energy and fatigue. I still get RLS at night so I haven't had what I would call a good night sleep in the past month, but, I'm generally getting at least 5 hours per night so I'm thankful for that.

The yawning and sneezing is out of control. Interestingly, I didn't really get these symptoms till about the past week or so, but I am yawning around once every 5-10 minutes, and sneezing around 2 to 4 times per hour.

I'm so ready to be done with this. I know I'm past the acute phase, and I guess at this phase it's technically paws but I'm not really depressed or anything, I'm just tired and would like to get some good sleep. It does come in waves, and today has been a bit more melancholy than other days, so perhaps that's why I'm posting.

In any case, it doesn't matter. I'm never dosing again.

Fuck kratom. Fuck the green demon. Despite my complaints, for those of you walking through the fire right now, know that it does get better. I'm not all the way healed, but I am massively improved over that first week or two, and you will get through it. Get angry at it. Dig deep. You got this.

Today is day 16 CT, when does the yawning stop?

Used for 13 years, where over the last year I used 10-12gpd of leaf powder.

The yawning has been relentless like a yawn every 5-10 minutes. When does it stop?

Also, sneezing, which has been less severe, but still sneezing 5 or 10 times per day.

Minor annoyances I know, but I'm just curious what others experiences were.

Day 8

Today is day 8 from my CT quit. I used for 13 years, averaging 10-12gpd over the past year. I am now 175 hours free from Kratom.

I woke up feeling rested for the first time in a week. My watch says I got close to 9 hours of sleep, although I'm not sure how accurate that is I do feel like I slept well. I was able to get ahold of some gabapentin and took a single 300mg dose last night with a large scoop of peanut butter to help with absorption and bioavailability.

It really, really helped with the RLS. I won't take it for long because I'm aware of it's dependency issues, but it made a huge difference in my ability to get some rest. It's worth it for a night or two.

In addition to that, I noticed the watering eyes and sneezing really stepped up yesterday and today. It's interesting because I didn't really have that symptom for the first 3 or 4 days. Maybe slightly on day 5 and 6, but days 7 and 8 (today) it's like full on allergies.

I believe I am through the worst of it. Tomorrow I have to go back to work. When I first posted about being able to take a week off to quit someone mentioned "that is a gift" - they were right. I've needed every single day to get through this. I probably could have done it in 5 days, but the extra time has really helped. At 5 days I was still exhausted from the lack of sleep.

For those reading this who are on day 1, or thinking about day 1, you can do this. If you are on day 2 or 3, you are in the thick of it, but it is worth it. Get angry and fight through. Do not dose for any reason. Every thought that leads to dosing is a trick of the evil green demon. Day 4 or 5, you are over the hump, and green pastures await. At day 8 while I still have some lingering symptoms I can say I am past the worst of the acutes and I used for over a decade.

I'm sure I still have a ways to go, and I am not ignorant to the pink cloud or paws, so I'll take it one day at a time, take care of myself, exercise, eat healthy, and let the days click by.

I feel free. Finally. Free.

Headache

I know this might seem like a small thing, but I wanted to ask if anyone else had this happen.

Today is day 7 for me, I quit CT from a 13 year habbit where over the last year I had been taking 10-12gpd. I'm 159 hours kratom free at this point.

But today, I have had a bitch of a headache the entire day. I'm talking like a really, really bad headache.

I have taken some Tylenol, but I haven't taken anything else because I am worried about potential kidney damage done by kratom. Most nsaids have a renal (kidneys) metabolic pathway, where acetaminophen is broken down primarily by the heptic (liver) metabolic pathway.

Has anyone else had horrible headaches at this stage?

I'll also mention that the fatigue and exhaustion of yesterday and today have been significant. Today is probably the most "fatigued" I've been during the whole process. It's different than the exhaustion that comes with no sleep, it's like a complete lack of energy.

Day 6

Well, it's day 6 for me CT from a 13 year habbit of leaf powder, where over the last year I averaged 10-12gpd.

I am now 128 hours clean from Kratom.

Last night I got six hours of broken sleep. The restlessness continues. I swear, that's the worst symptom of all of it. Outside of sweats, chills, hot flashes, GI issues, everything else is a mental battle, and while I'm sure the mental battle will wear me down as time goes on, I can fight through that. But the restlessness and restless legs are the worst. It makes sleep impossible. I think I'm starting to get PTSD when the sun sets, because I can feel the restlessness ramping up at night and the anxiety that comes with knowing sleep will be fleeting. I got some dopa mucuna for the L-dopa content and took two doses yesterday, I think maybe it helped some, even though the RLS persisted it did seem slightly less intense than before, but maybe that's just the natural course of decreasing severity over time, it's hard to say. I won't take it for more than a few days to try and get through the worst of this, as I'm aware of the long term concerns about it's use.

My back hurts today. I think that may be because I've slept on my couch for 5 nights now. I use the word slept... figuratively. Most nights it's been more like lay on the couch for 10 minutes, get up and pace around the room for an hour. Repeat.

All that said, according to everything I've read I should be through the worst of the acutes and I think I am. Thank God. It's been truly brutal. I cannot imagine the hell that would be coming off something like IV opiates.

I feel very thankful to be through the worst of it, but I'm still cautious and guarded, I hope and pray it's infact the case.

For all my complaints and sorrows, I will say that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. In hindsight, I wish I had walked through the fire before now, but what's done is done. Now I will move on with my life never again a slave to the sludge.

Fuck the green demon. Fuck kratom. I will never dose again. Fuck this shit.

/Edit: reading through my post, I found myself feeling selfish that the post seems all about me, but I don't mean it that way. I want to offer some words of encouragement to those in a similar place. I will not lie to you, this process is extremely difficult. It's painful. But it is absolutely worth it. I cannot overstate how great it feels to not need to dose ever again. To never have to hide it, to never again have to make sure I have some with me, it's truly a wonderful thing.

This is hard. It's worth it. You can do this. Get angry at the green bastard and fight your way through the darkness.

Concerned about my timeline, is 8 days enough to be functional?

So, I went CT on Sunday this past weekend. Today is day 4 for me. I was very blessed to be able to take a week off work, but that means I have to return to work in 4 days. I'm getting a little concerned about my rate of improvement, while I knew this would be hard (and it has infact been completely brutal) I knew I had to do it. I was starting to feel kidney pains that I am almost certain are due to my use, I just hope and pray they can heal (drinking a ton of water and taking cranberry supplements).

I think, keyword being think, that my acute wd symptoms have peaked but I'm not certain. It's a little better today than day one or day two, but my main concern is sleep. I still get waves of restlessness throughout my entire body and I am absolutely exhausted, only getting a few hours of sleep each night on the couch. RLS really goes into overdrive as the evening approaches.

I know most on here say acute WDs peak around day 3 or 4, but I'm curious to get some additional perspectives.

I used for 13 years. 10-12gpd habbit for the last year or so.

Is it realistic to expect I'll be able to sleep in the next 4 days?

I'm about to go for a walk, maybe do some squats with some dumbbells. I'm taking all the recommend supplements, but RLS and insomnia have become the thing I dread most about this process.

Still not giving in. Ever. Fuck the green demon, come what may, I am never touching this shit ever again.

All I want is sleep

Ugh. In two hours I will have been 48 hours clean. And have 48 hours with zero sleep. I'm talking none.

Today was actually reasonably tolerable, I was exhausted, but the actual withdrawal seemed to let up a little.

And then, tonight, the restless legs and overall restlessness came back with a vengeance. Like full body convulsions.

Ive tried sleep time teas, melatonin, L-theanine, magnesium glycinate, etc. and none of them even touched the restlessness.

This is brutal.

Could use some support

I'll start this post by saying I can't believe I'm writing this. I'm the stoic type. I keep everything deep inside. It's just my nature. If I'm honest with myself I am also very ashamed that I have put myself in this position, which is why I have never written about this before. I guess I'm writing this as a plea for a little help, because I don't have anyone I can talk to about this.

I've been using kratom daily since around 2013. It's crazy it's been that long. My story started the usual way, I was in a bad car wreck, broke my spine, got prescribed oxy's...when those ran out I dabbled in various opi's for a few years, I always managed to keep it under control. Kept my job, kept it hid..never got in trouble. Never got caught. I never used a needle.

Eventually, I found kratom. At the time it was still relatively new on the scene, and largely only available by ordering it online. It was amazing because it meant I never had to deal with any wd's again (or so I thought at the time).

It's crazy to think, but I've been taking kratom daily for over 13 years.

I started at around 3.5g per dose, probably around 24gpd. Over time, I've decreased my dose steadily, and now I am stable on around 9-11gpd. My normal does is 1.4g, and I weigh my dose on a scale every dose. I've been at that range for about a year now. Maybe a handfull of times I've dosed 1.75g (usually only if my restless legs act up and I can't sleep). I don't take kratom to feel better, or for any benefits at all, I take it purely to not have wd.

Well, a day or two ago I noticed I had some pain on my right side on my back so I went to an urgent care clinic and they found a microscopic amount of blood in my urine. I went ahead and did a bunch of lab test, they drew blood, etc. and I'm waiting to get those back. But I am pretty sure I have damaged my kidneys with this crap. I got home from the doctor and had to dose. But I only took 1g. I laid down and went to sleep. I had a very restless night of sleep, maybe 3-4 hours in total.

As fate would have it, I have the entire week off work. I'm about to start a new job, and took some time off. So today, when I woke up, I walked into my kitchen to do my normal ritual and dose, but I stopped myself.

I haven't dosed at all today, but I am really struggling with it.

I took my dosing container and put it away. That was at 4am. It's been about 4 hours, and, I can tell I'm in wd's. It's manageable at the moment, but every hour I find myself playing mental games on "just dose a little bit, maybe do .5g's and it'll take the edge off." On the other hand, part of me deep down knows that what I need to do is just suck it the fuck up and white knuckle this bitch.

I'm getting flashes of hot and cold, sweats, back pains, my new found friend (sarcasm) kidney pain. Due to the kidney issue I'm staying away from high dose vitamin c, but I did take some black seed oil earlier.

Ugh. Any words of encouragement or support are appreciated. I think I'm going to try my best to use this week as my week of reckoning. I've got to stop this shit.

To add: I never tried 7OH. My post is about plant powder, not concentrates. Typical plantation bali plant powder.
