World Cup Milan Competition Thread

I'm a few hours late... but the last World Cup before WCH is happening! Almost everyone is there as a final test before worlds.

Some things to look out for

Interestingly, Russia has send Arina and Maria - a hint at who is going to worlds?

Germany is using their extra quota and has Darja, Viktoria and Lada competing - as a last international test before who will get the chance to compete at the home world championship (apart from Darja, of course...).

Bulgaria has showed a new group routine during the warmup. A bold move so shortly before wch but maybe a good idea considering their season hasn't gone sow well...

World Challenge Cup Cluj-Napoca, June 26-28 Competition Thread

Finally, the next big RG competition is here! With only one World Cup left, this is the second to last competition before the Frankfurt World Championships.

Some information

  • Location: Cluj-Napoca, Romania 🇷🇴
  • Whether in Cluj will be 32-35°C, which means that when the ribbon without AC starts, it will get hot. I expect a messy ribbon final.
  • The mayor of Cluj has announced that they will not play the Russian anthem in case a Russian wins. Reddit thread about this here.

Nominative Roster

  • Competition is tight for a world challenge cup, as many will use this chance to test themselves before the last World Cup. However, some countries are not sending their A-Team (e.g. Sofia Rafaeli is not coming).See the latest nominative roster here

Apparatus finals (& final day 😞 )

  • 11:00–12:10 — Senior Apparatus Finals (Hoop & Ball)
  • 12:20–13:30 — Senior Apparatus Finals (Clubs & Ribbon)
  • 15:00–15:40 — Senior Groups Final (5 Balls)
  • 15:50–16:30 — Senior Groups Final (3 Hoops + 2 pairs of clubs)

Streaming

  • Finally we have free streaming!!
  • Eurovision Sport streams all finals for free (after sign-up)
  • Streaming might be geoblocked in your country as many countries are streaming themselves. If you comment the national links, I can add them here 😄

European Championships Day 4 (May 30th, 2026) Competition Thread

Individual AA final, group AA & qualification

  • Today we will see the new AA final format for the first time:
    • Instead of all 20 individual AA finalists, only 10 get to show all four apparatus in the AA final: After hoop and ball, only the top 10 get to continue. This is the first time, that this format is being held.
    • u/ferretherder made a cool info post about it if you want to see how this would have worked if it would have been like this last year
  • Then, we will finally see the groups! Different from the individuals, there is no qualification for AA, but the AA is the qualification for the finals at the same time (as in world cups)
  • Today we finally have free streaming (Thank god!!)

European Championships Day 3 (May 29th, 2026) Competition Thread

Senior clubs , ribbon & AA qualification

  • The first half of the AA qualification brought many surprises! For example, Maria Borisova is surprisingly not amongst the top 20 at the moment who qualify for the AA final. However, she, and others have the opportunity to turn things around in the second half. This year, the best 20 will then qualify for the final, where the best 10 after hoop and ball (in the final) get to show the full competition and compete for the title.
