I randomly decided to take online iq tests. I took mensa norway and openpyschometrics. For reference, my age is 16. I speak 3 languages, English as my native language.
As you might have seen, my Verbal IQ is trash. Does verbal IQ correlate to one's ability to speak in the language?
Does being bilingual/trilingual affect Verbal IQ scores? Is it possible to improve Verbal IQ scores?
For context, I couldn't fall asleep so I decided to take an IQ test (mensa norway). I finished the 35 questions in 25 minutes, with a score of 118. I've just turned 16.
As I was reading through the instructions of the test, it made me wonder: Why are IQ tests regarded inaccurate for people under 18, specifically for teenagers? A smart person does not correlate to good grades. Moving from middle school to high school does not automatically affect IQ scores.
That brings me to my next question: Can IQ increase naturally with age? Again, nothing in school particularly trains the brain for similar types of questions found in IQ test.
hello everyone, my friend and i are 16f. she's like 5'3, roughly 50kg, doesn't smoke or vape or do drugs. she does not take any medications.
we've been friends for a year and she's been having mental health issues since we were 15. i was aware that she cuts herself, our school and her parents knew as well, but i've never seen it before. she visits the school counsellor but she hates it.
recently when we were in school she showed me her self harm and i was quite shocked to see how bad it was. there were like 2 super big and hella deep cuts. it was entire length of her forearm, and i could see yellowish bumpy stuff in the cut so i assume it's the fat layer? it was still fresh so i told her to get stitches/seek medical attention. she refuses to get stitches because she says the doctor will send her to a mental health institution.
she then proceeded to describe to me in detail how she cut herself and that she enjoyed the feeling of it. since then, she's also been sending me pictures of other cuts and it's pretty gory. her parents know about this but they're not doing anything?? she hasn't been in school and it's difficult for me to contact her, as she's rarely online. i'm her only friend, if i tell anyone or stop being friends with her, i'm scared she'll hurt herself more or kill herself.
i'm at a loss as to what to do or how to help her. i'm not comfortable sharing this with my parents either. this is probably not the correct thread to post on but i appreciate anyone's advice! thanks
