Does VSI score really reflect ability when subtest results vary this much?

I got a score of 125 on spatial reasoning, a 130 on visual puzzles and 145 on block counting. Cognitive metrics averaged out my VSI to 140. How exactly does averaging work on these tests. Visual spatial thinking is one of my most comfortable modes of thinking but 140 doesn't seem like an accurate representation of my true VSI, I feel like it must be lower.

Clavis Aenigmatis 45 (CA45) – High-range fluid reasoning test (updated, 45 items, untimed)

I recently updated and expanded my fluid reasoning test (CA45). The previous version had 34 items; this complete version has 45 items for a more gradual difficulty curve, along with polished instructions.

CA45 is designed to measure reasoning abilities from the low-average range up to the exceptionally gifted one. It draws on a wide range sub-abilities off Gf. The test is completely untimed, pen and paper are allowed (and encouraged), as the load on working memory and processing speed is intentionally minimized.

The test is currently in its norming phase, so I'd be very grateful to anyone who takes it and submits their answers. Every submission brings us closer to reliable norms.

Am I Wrong?

I was taking an IQ test, and this was one of the questions. To my understanding, the answer would be unknown because it does not clarify if there is a leap year sometime in between. Am I just crashing out, or did they mess this up?

Can someone please help me understand these results?

I took one of these free online test, I know nothing about IQ scores/IQ test but I sorta assume there’s not legitimacy to them. But nonetheless can someone please explain to me what this means? Where I highlighted the text, it’s says “with a standard deviation of 15”. Please & thank you!

Is the IQ test on https://test.mensa.no/ accurate?

If I didn't do any other IQ test in years (and only have done a few in my entire life), did not prepare or cheat for it any way, can I trust the score I got there to be my real IQ? or is it inflated to make you feel smart and bait you to go to their site and pay for the real test?

A while back someone claiming to have an IQ of about 65 posted to this subreddit saying that not only had he finished HS, but that he wanted to go to college. Many users were supportive, though there was also plenty of skepticism too - not only that OP could actually accomplish this goal, but that his IQ was actually 65 to begin with, as some people argued it was nearly impossible for him to have completed HS with such a low IQ (or to even write a post with relatively normal English), so his results must have been flukes.

I was curious to know how many people in this IQ range actually manage to finish HS and college, so I used data from the General Social Survey to help answer this question, and took the opportunity to also plot the IQ distribution by education level. Specifically, I used the "wordsum" variable (the score participants got in a short vocabulary test) as I've seen some studies use this variable to estimate IQ before. Vocabulary is one of the most g-loaded tests so that makes sense, though due to its limited scope, small number of questions, and difficulty in measuring higher IQs as you can see in the graphs above, along with with fact that I don't control for other relevant variables like age or parental income, these should not be considered robust or definitive indications of anything, only tentative estimates made out of curiosity.

223 participants had an IQ score under 70 (raw score of 0 or 1), of whom 96 (43%) completed HS, and another 24 (10.8%) went on to get a degree. So although many of this subreddit's users were skeptical of the OP, completing HS with an IQ of 65 is not impossible, and neither is it to complete college - though the OP will definitely be fighting an uphill battle.

As for the average IQ by education, unsurprisingly they were positively correlated, though because scores were truncated at ~130 IQ the averages calculated for both undergrads and postgrads are likely underestimates.

If anyone reading this had their curiosity piqued by this post, just know that you can expand on it by analyzing some of the other variables in the GSS, specifically those in the Knowledge and Science sections (e.g., bigbang, electron, odds1, etc.), as they also often involve crystalized intelligence. I won't be spending any more time on this myself because I actually have a test tomorrow night and I haven't even started studying yet lol.

Working on an app that revolves that has an IQ test as a feature. test has about 45 seconds per question, 40 questions, 30 minutes. tell me what difficulty this question is on easy-medium-hard. this question covers the spatial reasoning domain:

A cube is 4 units wide, 4 units tall, and 4 units long. It is painted on all 6 faces. Two cuts are made — first a diagonal cut through the cube that separates it into two congruent pyramids. Then, a horizontal cut 1 unit from the bottom passing completely through. How many pieces result, and what is the total number of painted faces across all pieces combined?

A. 3 pieces, 14 painted faces

B. 4 pieces, 12 painted faces

C. 4 pieces, 14 painted faces

D. 4 pieces, 16 painted faces

Edit: this is the revised version, thanks for @je_nm_th for pointing out the flaw

[Casual] Take my 20-min IQ test and share your score — measures pattern, spatial, logic, verbal & numeric reasoning [corebrain.app] (All welcome)

Hey r/SampleSize**,**

I built a short IQ test that uses real psychometric scoring (IRT 3PL — same method as standardized tests) instead of the fake "you got 147!" tests you see everywhere.

It measures 6 cognitive axes: pattern recognition, spatial reasoning, logic, verbal, numeric, and matrix reasoning. Takes ~20 minutes.

I took it myself and got 117 — curious where this sub lands.

Drop your score + strongest axis in the comments.

Finally, sat down

good lord, i have never in my life before actually managed to sit down and do something calmly. For some reason this night i told myself to take a test without music, without eating or any distractions whatsoever and my score in the mensa denmark test when from 113 to 121, while i still had some minutes left.

I have taken some other tests for fun prior to this but i never took the score seriously since i have attention issues and get distracted easily or do things halfway through. In some other tests, when i was closest to concentration i scored the following:

Mensa norway: 121
opensychomsetrics 131, 112 (im a spanish speaker so i shouldn’t have done the verbal part), 127.
Mensa hungary: 123

i found this test in specific to look pretty challenging but it ended up being quite a nice challenge to take up, since i found the time given to solve most questions great and not a problem at all.

Online IQ test "represents" results at 125, pretty good for what I expected, I'd like to know your thoughts

Hey I was almost not going to take it though I scored 100% on the last section so completed it confidently. It may be found here and my images are my actual results. I took less than 44 minutes out of the hour

https://whats-your-iq.com/

I am so happy! I can finally just coast... oh and I'm on medication for Schizophrenia and have been through awhile without testing had thought, that I could score less than I expected if I didn't establish consistency... The only Binet online tests I've taken also average out (also online) from 100, to 150, to 125 so there is that same correlation. I'm an arts guy and went to Wesleyan University, and I have composed many instrumental cool songs

My SAT was 1400 on the old scale (2100 when I took it) and my GRE was 310... I was hospitalized at times. I don't have the money for an official test given by a psychologist. My life is so boring and I have to have a coffee in the morning to have focus... thanks for the kind regards and have good hunting on your metrics

People with an iq of 116+, what does a day in your life look like?

My entire life I was thinking "I don't need to do an IQ test, I know my IQ is around 115-120 and I don't need to prove anyone"

But now I took Mensa online IQ test and got 115 IQ... I'm painfully average... just so depressing...
