Can You Figure Out Which Triangle Comes Next?

Hi everyone, we’re back with another puzzle.
First, thank you to everyone who took part in our previous puzzle. We received several interesting answers, including some alternative interpretations that made the discussion even better.
As usual, we picked three community explanations that stood out:
u/Small-Tailor6967 — We chose this explanation because it clearly connected both key parts of the pattern: the last shape carrying over into the next box and the shape with the most vertices being shaded. It also explained clearly why those rules lead to B.
u/ChaosRealigning — A very clean and concise explanation. They identified both the continuity rule and the shading rule without overcomplicating the solution.
u/vexedthespian — Another strong explanation that independently recognized the relationship between consecutive groups and that the shape with the most sides is the one that gets shaded.
Thank you to them, and to everyone else who shared a solution. We really enjoy seeing the different ways people approach these puzzles.
Now it’s time for our new puzzle.
Take a close look at the sequence in the image and choose the option you think should replace the question mark.
But don’t just give us the letter. Tell us why you chose it and explain the pattern you found. We’re especially interested in the reasoning that leads you to your answer.
As with our previous puzzles, we’ll select some of the best community explanations and feature them on our website with the Reddit usernames of the people who wrote them.
You can also view the puzzle and submit your solution directly on our website:
https://whats-your-iq.com/en/questions/pattern-recognition/which-triangle-comes-next-in-the-sequence
So, what’s your answer: A, B, C, or D?
And more importantly: what pattern do you see?

Can You Figure Out Which Set of Shapes Comes Next?

Hi everyone,
First, a big thank you to everyone who took part in our previous puzzle. We really enjoyed reading through the different solutions and seeing how many different approaches could lead to the answer.
As with our previous puzzles, we selected three community explanations that stood out:
Cyrrex91 was selected for finding a creative alternative pattern. Instead of following the top and bottom sequences separately, they approached the puzzle through the total number of dots and still found a path to the correct answer.
BekindConan stood out for giving a clear and well-structured explanation of both sequences, including an interesting way of describing the upper pattern through doubling and halving.
nunya_busyness1984 was selected for not only identifying the numerical pattern correctly, but also recognizing that the unusual positioning of the dots was irrelevant to the actual solution.
Thank you to all three, and to everyone else who shared their reasoning.
You can read the full official explanation of the previous puzzle, along with the selected community solutions, on our website. The selected explanations are featured there with their Reddit usernames.
Now, on to our new puzzle.
This one requires a closer look at the shapes, their properties, their positions, and how the groups change across the sequence.
Which option should come next: A, B, C, D, or E?
More importantly, tell us why you chose it. We are looking forward to seeing the different patterns and explanations you find.
We’ll review the responses again and select some of the most interesting explanations to feature alongside the official solution on our website.

Thanks in advance to everyone who takes part. Good luck!

Can You Figure Out Which Domino Comes Next?

Hi everyone,
Thanks again to everyone who took part in the last puzzle. There were a lot of interesting answers, and what I enjoyed most was seeing how different people could reach the same answer using completely different approaches.
As usual, I went through the explanations and picked three that stood out for their clarity, reasoning, and distinct ways of looking at the pattern:
🥇 u/AntLost4161
Their solution used elimination across both rows and columns. Instead of relying on a rotation sequence, they noticed that an arrow direction should not repeat within a row or column. Applying that constraint to the missing cell eliminated three options and left C. I selected this one because the rule could be checked against multiple parts of the grid rather than a single sequence.
🥈 u/Brilliant_Caramel_10
They separated the cells into odd and even positions and discovered two alternating sequences. The odd-numbered cells followed one upper-position pattern, while the even-numbered cells followed another along the bottom. This was a simple and very easy-to-follow way of reaching C.
🥉 u/Crows0ng
They approached the entire grid as one continuous sequence, describing it as reading the cells “like a book.” Instead of restarting the pattern at the end of each row, they identified a four-part cycle that continues into the next row and repeats. I liked this explanation because it offered a different way of looking at the structure of the whole grid.
Thank you to all three of you for taking the time to explain your reasoning, and thank you to everyone else who joined the discussion as well. There were several other interesting interpretations, including alternative answers, and they made the discussion much more interesting.
Now for today’s puzzle.

https://whats-your-iq.com/en/questions/pattern-recognition/which-domino-completes-the-pattern

Take a close look at the sequence and choose A, B, C, or D.
As always, I’m more interested in how you reached your answer than just the letter itself. If you spot a rule, explain your reasoning in the comments.
You can also find the puzzle here:
Which Domino Completes the Pattern?
I’ll go through the responses again and feature some of the most interesting explanations with the next puzzle.
Good luck.

We picked the 3 best explanations from our last puzzle. Ready for a much easier one?

Hello everyone!
First of all, thank you to everyone who participated in our previous puzzle. Reading all of your explanations and different ways of thinking was genuinely enjoyable. Your comments make these puzzles much more interesting, and we truly appreciate the time you spend sharing your reasoning.
As always, we selected three community explanations to feature alongside the official solution on our website.
🏆 Community Highlights
🥇 One-Preparation-8815
Provided one of the most complete explanations by breaking the puzzle into separate components instead of relying on a single rule. The clear step-by-step reasoning made the solution easy to follow.
🥈 PrairiePuppies
Offered a creative Binary OR interpretation that simplified the entire puzzle into a single logical operation. A clever and elegant perspective.
🥉 garningur
Explained the solution using a simple visual overlay approach. The explanation was short, intuitive, and made the pattern immediately understandable.
Congratulations, and thank you once again!
You can see the complete solution and explanation here:

Now it’s time for a new puzzle!
This time we wanted to do something different. Instead of another difficult challenge, we prepared a much easier puzzle. We think most of you will solve it almost instantly, and we’re looking forward to seeing even more people join the discussion.
As always, don’t just post your answer—tell us why you think it’s correct. The reasoning is often more interesting than the answer itself, and we may once again feature some of the best community explanations on our website.
Good luck, and thank you for being part of this project🤗🤗☺️

Can You Find the Hidden Rule?

Hello everyone!
Before introducing today’s puzzle, I’d like to sincerely thank everyone who participated in our previous challenge. It was great to see so many different approaches leading to the same solution.
A special thank you goes to jabuchae, Gerhard1953, and Lemasney. Your explanations stood out because they were clear, detailed, and approached the puzzle from different perspectives. We selected your comments as our official community explanations, and they will be published on the puzzle page with credit to your Reddit usernames.
Now it’s time for a new challenge!
I’ve just published another pattern recognition puzzle. As always, the correct answer has already been recorded on the website. However, what interests me the most isn’t simply which option you choose, but how you arrive at your answer.
Please don’t just post the option you think is correct. I’d love to read your reasoning, observations, and the rule you believe the puzzle follows. Different ways of thinking are often even more interesting than the final answer itself.
Once again, I’ll select the three explanations that stand out the most for their clarity, originality, and logical reasoning. Those explanations will become the official community explanations on the puzzle page, with full credit to your Reddit usernames.

First of all, thank you to everyone who participated in our previous puzzle. Once again, the discussion was fantastic, with many different ways of reaching the same answer. Reading all of your explanations is genuinely one of the most enjoyable parts of these puzzles.
I also want to thank everyone who commented. I made a point of replying to every explanation because I truly value the time and thought that goes into writing them. What’s the Rule Behind This Pattern?

There is just one duplicated phrase in the second paragraph. Here’s the corrected version:
First of all, thank you to everyone who took the time to solve the previous puzzle and share their reasoning. We received several different interpretations, including answers A, D, and E, which made the discussion especially interesting.
For the previous question, the official answer has now been added to the website together with its full explanation. The intended rule assigns a value of 2 to each square and 1 to each triangle. Using this rule, every row, every column, and both diagonals add up to 30, making B the official answer.
You can read the complete step-by-step explanation here:
https://whats-your-iq.com/en/questions/pattern-recognition/which-tile-completes-the-shape-matrix
Now, we are moving on to a new puzzle.
Which symbol do you think completes the pattern matrix, and what rule leads you to your answer?
You can view the correct option at the link below, but I am leaving the detailed explanation to the community. As always, I look forward to reading not only your answers but also the reasoning behind them.

Thank you again to everyone who takes the time to participate and explain their solution.

Thanks for the Amazing Explanations! Here’s Today’s Puzzle😊

Hi everyone!
Before getting to today’s puzzle, I just wanted to say thank you for all the time and effort you put into the previous one. There were a lot of interesting ideas and discussions, and I really enjoyed reading through them.
For the last puzzle, these were the three explanations I selected to feature on the website:
🥇 theflyingpurplehippo – for presenting a complete and consistent rotation rule for all three letters, including how they continue rotating even when temporarily absent from a cell. The accompanying diagram made the logic especially clear.
🥈 RomblerSan – for combining the letter sequence with the rotational relationships across both diagonals to arrive at the official answer in a structured and easy-to-follow way.
🥉 Black_Bal – for identifying the row-to-row transformation rule and showing how each position is generated from the previous row, leading consistently to the correct solution.
Thank you to everyone else who joined the discussion as well. Even when the approaches were different, it was great to see how many ways people tried to tackle the puzzle.
I’ve also noticed several familiar usernames appearing puzzle after puzzle, and seeing you come back each time genuinely makes these discussions more enjoyable.
For anyone who’s curious, the previous puzzle and its official answer can be found here:
https://whats-your-iq.com/en/questions/pattern-recognition/which-tile-completes-the-shape-matrix

Now for today’s puzzle.
As before, I’ve only published the answer choice on the website for now. I’d love to feature a few of the best community explanations alongside it, so if you can, please don’t just post the letter you think is correct.
Instead, explain how you arrived at your answer. Whether you noticed a counting rule, a geometric relationship, a transformation, or something completely different, I’d really like to read your reasoning.
As with previous puzzles, I’ll select a few of the clearest and most interesting explanations to include on the website (with credit to your Reddit username).
Thanks again to everyone who takes the time to participate. I always look forward to reading your ideas, and I hope you enjoy this one too.😊

I found the official answer, but I’d love to hear your explanation.

Hello everyone! 👋😊
First of all, thank you so much to everyone who took part in the previous puzzle. I genuinely enjoyed reading all of your comments, whether you shared a detailed explanation, a different interpretation, or simply your answer. Seeing how differently people approach the same puzzle is what makes these discussions so interesting.
I would also like to give a special thank-you to u/Tiberium600 and u/Itchy-Individual3536.
Their explanations stood out because they did more than identify the answer. They broke the pattern down into clear and logical steps, making their reasoning easy to follow. I especially appreciated the effort they put into explaining not only what they noticed, but also why their method worked.
Thank you both for taking the time to contribute such thoughtful explanations.
Now it is time for a new puzzle🤗

🔗 Puzzle: https://whats-your-iq.com/en/questions/pattern-recognition/which-symbol-completes-the-pattern-test-your-abstract-reasoning

I have already added the correct answer choice to the puzzle page, but I have intentionally left out the explanation.
This time, I would like you to first find the answer and then explain the reasoning behind it in your own words. Please don’t share only the option letter. What interests me most is the pattern you noticed and how you used it to reach your conclusion.
As with the previous puzzle, I will carefully read every comment. I will choose a few of my favorite explanations, feature them on my website with the Reddit usernames credited, and briefly explain why I selected them.
Whether your explanation is short, detailed, simple, or completely different from the others, I truly appreciate everyone who takes the time to participate. Every comment can help someone else see the puzzle from a new angle.
Thank you all once again for your interest, your effort, and your thoughtful contributions. I am really looking forward to reading your explanations.
Take care, have fun, and happy puzzling! 😊👋

The Last Puzzle Was Amazing… Let’s Do Another One🤗

Hello everyone🤗👋
First of all, I hope you’re all doing well.
The previous puzzle generated far more discussion than I expected. It was fascinating to see so many different approaches, with people arriving at completely different answers while still presenting thoughtful reasoning. Thank you to everyone who joined the discussion and took the time to explain your ideas.
A special thank you to u/Bastian00100 and u/skykid889110. I selected their explanations as the official community solutions on my website because they each approached the puzzle from a different perspective while clearly explaining their reasoning. I truly appreciate the time and effort they put into helping others understand the pattern.
Now it’s time for another challenge.
As before, I’ve already published the official answer and my explanation on my website, but I’d rather not reveal it here right away. I always enjoy reading the community’s ideas before comparing them with my own solution.
If you’d like to check the official explanation after solving it yourself, you can find it here:
https://whats-your-iq.com/en/questions/pattern-recognition/which-shape-completes-the-pattern-2
Just like last time, I’ll choose the two explanations I find the clearest, most creative, or most convincing and feature them on the website as the official community solutions, with full credit to your Reddit usernames.
I’m looking forward to seeing how you approach this one. Good luck, have fun, and thank you again for making these discussions so enjoyable.
Take care, and see you in the comments.😊

I really struggled with this IQ puzzle. Can someone explain the logic behind the answer?

Hello everyone! 👋

First of all, thank you all for participating in the previous puzzle! Even though the number of comments wasn't as high as I had hoped, I genuinely enjoyed reading every explanation. There were some really thoughtful ideas, and I appreciate everyone who took the time to share their reasoning.

As I mentioned before, I wanted to feature some of the community's explanations on my website's solution page. After reading every comment, I selected three that stood out to me for different reasons:

🏆 Reddit user synont
I really liked your binary approach to solving the puzzle. It was creative, systematic, and offered a completely different perspective from the others. I always enjoy seeing unique ways of thinking, and your explanation definitely deserved a place on the solution page.

🏆 Reddit user giaz90
Your explanation was by far the most detailed one. I especially liked how you walked through your reasoning step by step instead of simply giving the answer. It makes the solution much easier for future visitors to understand, so I decided to include it as one of the featured explanations.

🏆 Reddit user Gerhard
I really liked how clear and concise your explanation was. It focused directly on the key logic behind the puzzle without adding unnecessary complexity. Sometimes the simplest explanation is the easiest one to understand, and yours achieved that very well.

Thank you again to all three of you, and also to everyone else who participated. Every comment was enjoyable to read, and I truly appreciate the time you spent solving and explaining the puzzle.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

🧩 Time for the next puzzle!

I've just published a brand-new puzzle on my website.

This time I've only revealed the correct answer choice—I intentionally didn't publish the full explanation because I'd love to see how you arrive at the answer.

Just like last time, I'll carefully read every explanation posted here, and I'll once again select some of my favorite solutions to feature on the website's solution page, with full credit to your Reddit username.

Can You Spot the Pattern? I’d Love to Read Your Reasoning.

Hello everyone! 👋😊
I hope you’ve been enjoying the IQ puzzles I’ve been sharing. Seeing so many of you solve them, explain your reasoning, and discuss different approaches genuinely makes me happy and motivates me to keep sharing more.
First of all, thank you to everyone who participated in the previous puzzle. The amount of thoughtful explanations was incredible, and I honestly didn’t expect so many detailed responses. I tried my best to reply to as many comments as I could because I truly enjoyed reading every approach.
A special thank you to MissKyu and Level_Pomelo_6178. Your visual explanations were fantastic, and I really wanted to feature them on the official solution page. Unfortunately, my website currently doesn’t support embedding images inside the explanation section, so I wasn’t able to include your visual analyses. I still wanted to mention you here because I genuinely appreciated the effort you put into them.
I also selected Minet’s explanation as one of the featured community solutions, and it has now been published on the official solution page with full credit.
For this puzzle, I’ve already published only the correct answer on the website. Just like last time, I intentionally didn’t publish the explanation because I’d love for you to explain the logic.
So…
Did you reach the same answer?
More importantly…
How did you solve it?
Please walk us through your thought process. Whether you noticed a hidden pattern, used elimination, or found a completely different approach, I’m much more interested in how you reached your answer than simply which option you chose.
Once again, I’ll choose one or two of my favorite explanations and feature them on the official solution page with full credit to their authors.
I’m really looking forward to reading your ideas.

They broke the pattern down step by step, making it simple for anyone to understand the reasoning. I’d like to thank them once again for taking the time to write such a detailed explanation.
