Hi my partner has gotten himself injured one after the other and I’m looking for ideas on what to do. He’s casual and on his previous job, he broke his foot on holidays so he had to be off for 6 weeks which led him to lose his job. He’s got a new casual job now and been there for 1.5 weeks when he injured himself again in the foot at home so he’ll be out of work again for a few weeks.
We can’t get any Centrelink help because my salary is well above the income threshold. We’re already in the red due to another personal crisis and we have a wedding in two weeks that we need to pay for and IVF costs already in progress. We can’t cancel the wedding as 80% is already paid for. All these were planned a year ago when we had a good amount of savings but I guess it’s called emergency savings for a reason.
I heard there might be income protection through super? We just need to get over August after the wedding and we can start recovering hopefully. So any band aid solutions right now we’re willing to do. We’re already in an $8k credit card debt.
