Has anyone else seen this weird Fiverr scam attempt?
Twice this week I’ve had almost the exact same situation happen with spokesperson video orders, but with completely different people.
The first time, someone messaged me wanting a video, but when it came time to order, they said their “brother” would place the order instead. After delivery, they kept insisting they “couldn’t download the video” and repeatedly pushed me to send it through a Google Drive link instead of Fiverr delivery. The strange thing was the buyer account (“the brother”) never replied — only the original person kept messaging.
Then today, a completely different person contacted me, but the conversation played out almost word for word the same as the previous one. Again, they said their “brother” would place the order, they said the delivered video was “perfect,” then immediately claimed they couldn’t download it and kept pressuring me to send it via Google Drive link instead.
I’ve delivered 1000+ videos on Fiverr and have never had download issues like this before. This feels way too identical to be a coincidence. Is this some kind of known scam, and what’s the angle behind pushing sellers to use Google Drive links?
