Found this 502 with the heater. The stove cleaned up nice with some 409 and Turtle Wax. Always wanted the heater accessory. It's 90 degrees today so I'll wait to try the heater but the stove burns like new.
Garage sale find over the weekend. It seems like it has only been run a couple of times. Like new.
Cleaning out a barn for a friend. Ran across this. Cleaned it up a bit. Hit the valve and generator with carburetor cleaner. These look like they may have been built late forties of fifties. It's a little noisy but seems to run well.
Has anyone attempted to light one of these recently? Looking for feedback on how it went before I try this one out.
Found this a few months ago at a garage sale. Took it apart and cleaned it up. The generator and valves are in good shape after some carburetor cleaner. Has anyone fired one up recently without loosing eyebrows? Would like to try it out but looking to learn from your passed experience.
Found this today at a second hand shop. It burns well even with the old gas that came with it. One of the pics is the clip that holds the grill to rotate up. Since a couple are broken, does anyone have advice on where they may have found them or how you have fashioned them. Any assistance is appreciated.
I asked for help identifying this a week or so ago. I had purchased it just for the Coleman globe since it did not cost much for obvious reasons. I then became interested in the challenge of working on it. After some clean up and paint along with some frustrating creativity, the Akron/Montgomery Ward is alive. Fun project. I still have to fashion a collar but that is for another weekend.
Although I'm typically a Coleman person, I saw this for a few bucks and picked it up. Needed to replace the valve casket but easy to do and the vent was in bad shape so I painted it with high heat paint. Not my choice, typically, but it was rough. The canister was empty so I filled it with my Flame King filler. Not sure I recommend this but it worked. The new ones will go in but you will need to lubricate it and muscle it a bit.
