My little red lantern putting in work.
Had a tornado warning and had to head to the basement.
MW Quick Lighting Iron 1936
Has anyone attempted to light one of these recently? Looking for feedback on how it went before I try this one out.
Anyone else have far too many?
I started collecting these things a few years back. There's more than what is pictured. It is a cheap hobby to get into, most of what you see was purchased at garage sales or fb marketplace. Most were $10-$20.
Is this normal for new powerhouses?
Bought two powerhouse lanterns and they’re both crushed on the back. Is this normal?
200J Advice
I just picked up my first vintage lantern and it works well enough but I've got a couple questions. 1. When I light it it seems like it only lights properly when I put the flame under a particular mantle. Is this normal? 2. When it runs it seems to pulse a bit even after it has warmed up.
Any advice on how to get it running more consistently?

Asking for advice!
This came to me from a recent purchase along with 2 other lanterns. 200A and the 228F are both rebuilt and up and running. This girl is giving me straight hell. 78/ 220K, and it will not release the valve body from the fount. I have used B'laster PB, direct low torch heat, heat gun, for more than 2 weeks, and she will not budge. Any advice? I have a fount vise and well, and a stand-alone vise, but she has been really abused!
Cream can
Found a cream can today. These things are tough to find. Fits a large frame lantern perfectly.

Question about #99s
Hey, so I’ve got a couple lanterns that both use #99 mantles. I’ve got one running peerless 24-A mantles, but it doesn’t seem to want to get going fully, mostly just flaming when it’s on anything but its highest output. In this case would just using #21s work? They’re the easiest ones to get in my area
