I'm a 19F who is currently living with her abusive mother and facing homelessness possibly by saturday. my mom had me on an unlimited data plan and she paid for both of us and when i had money or a job i would chip in and pay my half.

i currently have no job or money and i was going to move out later this week or early next week. i had connections (primarily my aunt/grandma) and like i said plans were had. well her being the narcissistic mother she is she managed to find a problem out of literally nothing. so she called customer service to disconnect my cell service and phone all together.

i tried to get a sim card and when i went to verizon (had to walk in eighty five degree weather) i had everything. my id, my money, and my phone. we needed access to get into my mom's account since she apparently holds legal responsibility over it. it was like pulling teeth but she gave us the pin. unfortunately due to my mom still having legal responsibility i cannot get a sim card due to my phone being DISCONNECTED. also, the only way to get a sim card is if i had my own plan and i don't have the money for that at the moment.

now the worker did say that me and my mom would have to be on the same line with a customer service representative on the phone... and that's an issue because my mom is my mom 🗿 i tried to explain the situation to her and that it wouldn't cost a dime but it was a mix of her not trying to listen and honestly trying to possibly sabotage me. so i don't think that's happening anytime soon.

so i want and need to know if there's any other way. i know i could get a new phone but i don't have the money and i need to be able to contact others. she already talked to my aunt and set a bad precedent for me which apparently is making my aunt rethink of picking me up and even giving me a place to stay. so this situation is kind of dire.

EDIT: she's also trying to turn off the wifi as a whole as that's the only way i've been able to talk to ppl and ask for help from my online friends.
