Submariner Family

Submariner Family

My personal builds. Always a work in progress with better dial, better crown. Is the Pelagos the replacement for their Submariner line? Left to right: 7924, 7928, 79090, Pelagos.

1680 with service dial

I havent seen too many minty looking 1680, so this one is supposedly on a service dial. The last image is a gen with service dial which inspired me. This will join my collection.

All parts are either from Alix or spare cartel watches I have in my spare box. Pip and crown are from Athaya. Dial from Raffles. 2813 movement because it looks like a rolex movement.

14060 Budget Plan

Anyone else working on a 14060 at the moment? Perhaps you don't mind sharing the parts list. Budget parts of course....

I got some random part from AliX. Managed to find someone to drill lugholes. Shapewise looks decent enough, may be a bit of work of CG and lugs. I have also ordered a 14060 T<25 from Raffles. This will be a slow build, no rush. I got the 2813 case intentionally, so I can use the Mingzhu 2813 which resembles a Rolex movement.

5513 Builds

If you would like to post any of your 5513 builds here, please do. Hopefully anyone looking for inspirations for possible 5513 builds can do so here.

This 5513 of mine has been a constant work in progress. I upgraded whenever I think I have better parts. This is a budget build, but the cost now is probably not too budget anymore. But I think currently, this is the best version.

- Unknown cartel case. This particular case has the right angled crown guard to begin with, so I simply had it reshaped. Some cases have a much too flat curve from the lug to the CG, so not too good. Please take a look at my last image.
- I used a 700 crown, this crown isnt a triple lock type and does not have 3 dots under the crown. From Athaya
- Dial and hands are from Raffles, baked.

79090 Raffles Build

I completed a 1680 build a few days ago then I saw my 79190 (unidirectional bezel + sapphire) sitting around, decided to swap the internals. Turned out pretty good actually since the Raffles 79190 dial has the "Swiss" at the wrong place anyway. So it is now a 79090 (bidirectional friction bezel + acryllic crystal) and the swiss marking is now at the right place.

I used Raffles' 5513 case, dial and hands.

1680 NOS

I decided to put together a few parts from the box and see what I could build. This is a new build from various old parts in the stock, hence NOS.

The parts:
-Raffles 5513 case,
-Raffles 1680 dial and
-Some unknown crystal.

I think the crystal makes it look better than Raffles' own 1680 case. I will leave it looking new, fresh from factory.

Raffles 1665 DWO Dial

So Raffles offers 2 types of 1665 dials, with and without DWO. Both 29mm. I tried the DWO dial but it looks weird, don't you think? The dial has so much space and the window feels too near the hands axis. The 2824 version seems to have a more properly placed date window. What do you think?

SD 1665 Great White

This is probably a JKF, I got it used. The bezel was actually glued to the case and then the crystal was also glued onto the case. Such an abuse by the previous owner to such a budget beauty. I replaced it with a crystal of the correct size I found in my spare box. I touched up the CG a little, still need to work on the crown. What do you guys think?
