Hi all,
Quick question for people in construction who deal with a lot of RFQs and subcontractor communication: how much time do you actually spend managing email every day?
For example, sending RFQs to dozens of subcontractors, tracking who has responded, following up with those who haven’t, collecting quotes from emails, and manually updating spreadsheets or bid tabs to compare pricing. It seems like a lot of repetitive work that still happens inside email.
For those of you in estimating, project management, or preconstruction, is that how your RFQ process actually works? Is email a major bottleneck?
Hi All,
Quick question for people who deal with a lot of repetitive email workflows: how much time do you actually spend on this stuff day to day?
One example that keeps coming up is freight RFQs: emailing an Excel sheet to a bunch of carriers, getting rates back, then manually copying everything into a master spreadsheet to compare quotes. Sounds like a lot of tedious back-and-forth for something that could probably be automated.
For anyone in freight, is that actually how it works on your end? And is time spent in email an actual issue, or am I missing something about how the process really goes?
Would love to hear from anyone who's dealt with this firsthand.
