repair or replace?

I ran PETG through my Creality Ender 3 V3 recently, a smallish print. It started well, adhering to the bed, so I left it alone for the evening. The material somehow backed up into the head, under the boot, and surrounded the hot end up to the housing... It's encased in material. I'm not sure exactly what all is underneath there - first time even changing the hot end.

How should I proceed...?

I'm done. Amazon search is stupid useless. And Rufus is worse. I search for an item, I get sponsored crap (lower quality) followed by other garbage barely meeting the criteria.
