How I get flowers and fruit in Zone 8a

The last frost date for my area is April 15th. The first frost is usually around November 1st. Right before the first Fall frost, I dig and separate the largest trees for storage. I then remove all leaves from the psuedostem. I wrap the root ball with a plastic bag and store the tree in my crawlspace. During Spring, after the last frost, I replant the tree which will regrow new leaves, flower and fruit before the fall frost. The fruit does not have enough time to ripen before frost so I cut and ripen it in my garage.
