Eating out :)

Happy Sunday everyone :)

Laundry day.

I slept 16 hours straight already and I still want to go back to bed. 🥱 I guess I’ll still smile tho. It’s probably just a little sunburn making me tired. 😴

Feeling more confident lately

This weekend was a VERY VERY MUCH NEEDED BREAK from work. I was just on vacation and the stress coming back was off the charts. I went foraging again this weekend but didn’t take any “before” pictures except for my shadow 😅 and the one spotted bolete. Part of my feeling more confident comes from the repeated exposure therapy I get from posting on selfie Sunday. Bonus cat protecting all my secrets.

Disappear / Reappear

I love how so many people in this community participate in a similar fashion as myself. I will be online for a week or two, maybe a month. Then I’ll disappear for weeks or months. Only to reappear and participate again… then poof, I’m gone again.. It’s nice to see people I remember resurfacing in the same way I do.

Sunday bounce back

I’m feeling much better than earlier this week. My cold is finally going away too. Went for a good hike in the heat ☀️ 🥾Worked up a good sweat and collected enough mushrooms for weekly meal prep 🍄🍄‍🟫. About to take a shower and then it’s time to cook 👨‍🍳🥘. If it looks good, maybe I’ll post some pics of the meals later. I don’t normally hike without a shirt but my sunburn is peeling and I didn’t want to stick to my shirt 😩

Endings are hard

I see numbers on the clock but I don’t know what they mean. Im supposed to be getting ready for work. I keep looking at the clock. But the numbers feel blank. My head hurts. It feels too full and hard like cement. My eyes know to keep checking the clock. But the rest of me is frozen in place.

I’m sitting up on the edge of my bed. But my body feels completely flat. Thin and fragile like old fabric. It feels like I’m hovering a few millimeters above the carpet. Im flat but somehow hollow at the same time. It’s barely one layer thick and I can see through it. But still it feels empty. Empty like a sail with no wind. For two years, you were my wind. Now I’m just a loose piece of fabric.

I have to leave for work in 5 minutes and I’m still in my underwear. I can make it. I’ll just have a piece of gum for lunch today.

It’s helping.

Selfie Sunday is helping me. Generally speaking, whenever I see a photo of myself, I usually feel like a goofy goober, a derp, an unkempt average weirdo, not attractive, at all, in any way. This is the FIRST photo I have ever taken where I ACTUALLY feel attractive AT ALL. It may just be a coincidence in the photo editing, but this is a milestone for me. One which I would not have achieved without this sub. Thank you to everyone whos participation has inspired me to participate 🫶

Selfi Sunday is so much better this time of year.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! I’m being pulled in two directions. Major major major deadlines at work that conflict with my upcoming vacation schedule a week from now. 🤞🤞🤞wish me luck y’all.

Selfie Sunday. I feel weird for regularly participating.

I always look the same 😅
I had a good week and good weekend. I kept up with my chores for the most part. I went to the thrift store and came home with a new shirt and a rip-stick. Holy smokes those are weird to ride haha. I also made a great breakfast this morning. French toast with lychee berries, and weird but good dinner. Grilled Kabobs with pineapple, strawberries and honey.

Accidental music.

“some chords” by deadmous is playing on my stereo. The window is open and the rain outside now sounds like static crackling in the speakers. A car alarm blaring down the road sounds like a secret backing track as synchronizes with existing beat.

Selfie Sunday :)

I’m still burned out from working too much. It’s hard to feel positive when there is no help coming and no end in sight. I downloaded the finch app today to try to help me work on self care while I’m so overworked. It helped keep me hydrated, and it encouraged me to do one thing that made me happy. So I got outside and was lucky enough to see several deer 🦌 on the trail. Plus I heard the call of some kind of strange animal that I have never heard before 😅
Does anyone else use finch?

Sleepy Sunday

I burned out from working too much. When I work too much I end up mentally exhausted. Too tired to cook, clean, go for hikes, work in the yard/garden and even dulls the satisfaction and enjoyment of listening to music. So I eat bad food and end up scrolling social media unconsciously which makes me stay up late which deepens the exhaustion. BUT… The cats were thrilled to have me in bed catching up on rest this weekend, I managed to take my daughter bowling, fixed my brakes, and apparently I went on a hike that I absolutely do not remember doing. lol 😆
Currently folding laundry listening to the numbers

Compassion, Empathy, Self-Compassion, Self-Empathy

This isn’t strictly MBTI related but I feel like some of you may relate. Even if you can’t relate, you might have a good thoughts on it.
For my whole life I have felt more compassion for other peoples issues than I do for my own. For example, the passing of a loved one. When someone I love passes, I grieve quickly and I think more about the influence they had on my life and remember them fondly rather than grieving at length. But, when a friend loses a loved one, I cry for the pain that i imagine my friend might be feeling, even though I don’t experience that pain myself when in the same situation.
I cry for other peoples struggles, losses, and pain. But I don’t often cry for my own struggles, losses and pain. I don’t feel as deeply for myself as I feel for others.
There is one scenario where I do feel pain deeply and will cry but, in most cases if I’m going to cry it’s because someone made me feel noticed and appreciated and that’s a good thing.
I’m not sure what I’m asking really. But I feel weird for feeling other peoples pain more than I feel my own.
Does anyone else experience this? Is there a word for this situation? Any thoughts on the underlying psychology of this?
