Picked up this absolutely pristine daguerreotype at an antique mall. Looking for opinions on identification.
The Soldier looks to be from the Mexican American War but I’m not sure. The uniform looks close to a Colonels uniform but theres a few things that are off. Theres no lower cross sash across his waist, the epaulettes fringe is denser, the button spacing is different. Curious to hear any opinions!
