Grenadier of Cundinamarca in 1814, Illustration by me
Based on the painting of the Battle of Calibío by José María Espinosa, the bearskin back would have a yellow grenade on the fabric. At this time the Cundinamarcan Army would have used the same ranks and badges as the spanish, Sergeants would also carry spontoons and red epaulletes and capitans would have only one strap and two button coloured epaulletes, also a lighter coat. Unlike the picture, Rankers would use sandals as they were cheaper and more comfortable than boots. The picture shows a spanish musket.
