Any UAB CRNAs here? Would love to pick your brain before I apply.

Hi all!

I’m a “seasoned” nurse who has decided to not give up on the goal of being a CRNA. I have never been in a place to even consider applying until now. Anyway here is a quick snapshot of my skill set. What would you work on?

Experience at Level 1
4 years Neuro ICU
4 years in ICU float pool. Worked in SICU, TBICU, CVICU, BMT, NICU, MICU, Heart Transplant ICU
PRN for MET
3 years Critical Care Transport
2 years Assistant nurse manager TeleICU
All this was from 2004 to 2020

Got burned out a little and wanted a break from bedside.

4 years Utilization Management
2 years quality and pt safety
2 years as a school nurse(current)

Masters degree with a 3.8
Undergrad 3.1

6 pre req classes with 4 As, 2B

My plan is to go back and work in the Neuro ICU for a year while retaking pre req classes, getting my CCRN(again) and taking the GRE.

Would love this groups thoughts and advice as I’m approaching 50 and don’t want to waste anymore time, lol. Thanks!!
