The South Asian Symphony Orchestra (SASO) returns to Bengaluru on May 24, 2026, at the DJB Auditorium at Mount Carmel College for an evening built around Mozart’s Symphony No. 41, one of the greatest achievements in the symphonic canon. The concert will be conducted by Alvin Arumugam.

Nicknamed the "Jupiter," Mozart’s Symphony No. 41 is Mozart’s last and most monumental symphony. It is celebrated above all for its extraordinary finale, in which Mozart takes five separate musical themes and weaves them together in a stunning fugue—a feat of compositional mastery that left audiences and fellow composers alike in awe. For a work written in barely a few weeks, it carries a sense of cosmic grandeur that has earned it a permanent place among the greatest achievements in Western music.
