Capstone projects in FEIT
If you’re having any issues finding an academic to supervise projects in FEIT, please post here. If you’re not finding any satisfaction inside your faculty, u/Amandalovestoaudit or I will know whom to escalate this to.

I get this question a lot. Maybe this video I recorded a while back might help: https://youtu.be/047j9gPKaqY
If you’ve been granted a supplementary or alternative exam in accounting standards and regulation, then you would’ve got email from me earlier today.
Here’s the basic situation with the grades:
T if you’ve got a T then that means you have passed the subject but not passed the exam and would normally get an X failing grade. This automatically entitles you to a supplementary exam which is what the T stands for. I sent out emails to these students earlier today. The supp exam is next Monday.
W - this one’s a tricky one as you get a W for a number of reasons. Reason one is that you are entitled to a supplementary just like a T grade above except that I had to add you to the exam instead of the Central UTS adding you. For some obscure reason when I have to add you to the exam your grade does not appear as a T it appears as W. I can’t work this bureaucracy out but it is what it is. No matter, if you’ve been granted a supplementary you would have received an email from me.
W - the other reason why you’d get a W is that the proctorU system has preliminarily tagged you as having misconduct indicators in your exam. This thing goes to 2 more stages of checking and could take up to 2 weeks. The vast majority of people initially flagged as misconduct are generally false positives so your actual grade should be resolved by that time.
Z - Z grade is a straight-out failure. You have no automatic entitlement to any further exam exams and so the grade stands.
You should know that there were a few people who were both entitled to supplementary but were also flagged for misconduct. Those few people—less than five—received a different email from me late last week.
Just a reminder that if you are emailing me about ASR please do not use my initial.surname@uts email. Emails should go to 22420@uts.edu.au.
I know that some people have reached out to me for other matters but except for the matters above I really won’t have time to address these until early next week. Lots of paperwork and bureaucracy this week and I’m heading off to a conference from Friday to next Wednesday.
