What do we think of the new catalyst by honahlee search updates?
If you haven't seen it, searching for products on honahlee now shows so called 'premium' listings first. This premium status is purchasable by companies and allows for all information about their product to be shown.
I believe the argument is that these details provide greater transparency and therefore they should be shown ahead of the more opaque listings from companies which have not paid honahlee.
The information in question is the basic data that used to be freely available and the whole point of catalyst (patient information brochure, country of manufacture, country of packaging, all growing conditions), and it is now only available for products released by companies who have paid honahlee for the privilege.
As an example, searching for 'daily grape' on honahlee with no other filters used to show chemovar's daily grape as the first listing. It now shows two full pages of 'premium listings' which are all ostensibly not named daily grape. The real daily grape appears at the bottom of the third page.
I understand honahlee has to make money and given direct advertising is illegal the buzzword 'transparency' seems to be the loophole they've settled on - but it does seem difficult to see how this benefits patients. Thoughts?
