Grabbed a 15g tub of El Camino Cosmic Fuel for the RRP of $99 ($6.60/g). It’s a a Canadian import, sponsored by Alma Cannabis. Cultivar is GMO x Mendo Breath, with a dominant terpene spectrum of caryophyllene, limonene and myrcene.

Appearance:
Dense, popcorn-sized buds with a heavy trichome coating and good structure. Mine was on the dry side, compresses under pressure but doesn’t stay sticky.

Packaging:
Comes in a black glass jar with a striking cosmic/psychedelic label, swirling oranges, reds, purples and teals, with “El Camino” in a loose painted script and “Cosmic Fuel” in bold lettering underneath. It’s a much more artistic, illustration-heavy design than a lot of the market, leaning into a trippy, intense aesthetic rather than a clinical or natural-wellness look. The jar also includes an Integra Boost humidity control pack.

Aroma:
Quite pungent and dank, with noticeable sulphur, sweetness and pine. The smell is strong, but a bit of a letdown compared to how the flower looks.

Vaping:
Using an Arizer Air Max, starting at 190°C and working up to 220°C. Flavour is strongest at the lower temperatures. Honestly, it smells better straight from the jar or in the grinder than it does through the vape.

Effects:
This is where it delivers. Quite potent, in line with the 30% THC. Effects are a mix of heavy couch-lock and a cerebral, pressure-behind-the-eyes sensation. Definitely a night-time strain. Best left an hour or two before bed once chores are done. I found this out the hard way by using it a bit too early in the day.

Value:
At $99 for 15g, decent value for the potency on offer. I’d consider buying it again at that price, although the dryness and relatively underwhelming flavour hold it back for me.

Overall: 7/10

Firstly, 100% do not recommend.

Secondly, how do you guys clean these? Only had it for about a week and the facetz is clogging her up hard

Thirdly, is it worth shelling out $180 for those old mate grinders? Or do they just do the same thing?

EDIT: Thanks for the responses! I'm not a full noob, I do use iso and salt every night for the glassy. I just wasn't sure how I'd approach it as you usually just shake the bong around until it's clean. I guess I'll just shove it into a container and shake like crazy? Haha

What was a pretty good day heading to my dispensary for me sadly ended in a 6 hour long detour to the police station.

To set the mood I started off the day by hopping in the shower, eating lunch, then heading to my dispensary to pick up my new medication that I was to discuss with my doctor shortly before arrival at the dispensary.

As I arrived at the dispensary my doctor calls and I discuss my current and new scripts with him.
I got my El Camino Mango Lemonade, 1753 Wizard Trees and Stanley Brothers Night 20/10 Edibles.

After exiting my dispensary I turn the street next to the dispensary to hop in the car with my partner. As I grab my Edibles out the bag before I know it a man drives up behind me and snatches my edibles out my hand on an e scooter.

I chased him after he ditched the scooter for about 4 minutes but before my partner could catch up with me he was already gone, either he ducked in some front yards or got in a getaway.

We got heaps of camera footage from the streets to the dispensary and ended up reporting everything to the police and providing a statement and evidence.

What can I really do about this? my dispensary can only give me a 10 dollar discount like that solves any part of the issue at all which is literally the price the dispensary got it for.

So crazy this happened because I’m so used to always being on edge and checking my 6 constantly due to growing up in shitty suburbs
And the one moment I put my guard down slightly
My meds are gone.

I’m more pissed at the fact he outran me than the fact he stole from me. I pride myself on not having lost a race since primary school and my running ego was severely deflated😅

We did also see him on the phone pacing back and forth at the front on security cameras afterwards so the getaway driver was definitely almost probably the go.

Flower appreciation post!

This is some of the nicest MC I’ve had in some time. Picked this up from Heathershaws for $124 for 15Gs. Opening the glass jar I’m greeted by an earthy citrus pungent aroma which is very pleasant.

Greeted by greenish purpley buds of all sizes... the Imperium is cured really well. Definitely more on the spongey side of things. Not a dry bud in the tub.

Taste is like the smell. I get a very earthy taste on exhale which is bloody delicious and lingers for a while. Exactly what I look for in terms of flavour.

Effects are fantastic. Full body high that for me leans into a couch lock. Neck and back pain subside instantly and I get a very good nights sleep on this strain!

Well done Kayf! Will definitely be keeping this in the rotation.

Superseed Blueberry Purp - Grandaddy Purple x Blueberry 26% 10g $159

Have had this on rotation for about 4 months now and prescribed for sleep and pain relief from Crohn's. Definitely does the job. Having some of the best sleeps I've had in a long time. I feel rested in the morning with no hangover effect.

Effects are gradual while still keeping mentally clear. Body and mind relaxation are the dominant effect with minimal cerebral effects eg no tightness or fuzziness around your head/ eyes if that makes sense. Muscle relaxation is good and helps a lot with cramps and associated pain.

Pleasant aroma, very berry on the nose with slight gas and definitely hits as soon as soon as the tub is cracked. Buds have a great cure, although maybe slightly higher moisture than I'd like. Extremely sticky with very good trichome coverage. Grind is like kinetic sand, could be fluffier.

All in all this has been an effective strain for its intended purposes. I usually tend to lean towards GMO or gelato type strains but this has been surprisingly pleasant and effective to use. Will keep in the rotation for now..

Works nicely tho

This has become a great budget daytime flower for me. The effects are very functional: nice head high, but still clear, energetic and easy to get on with the day. Perfect for joint smoking and daytime use. I’ll even have a hit around 6am before a gym session and still feel switched on rather than foggy.

I’ve got an old and new pheno of the same strain. Effects are pretty similar between the two, but the fresher product is way tastier. The terps slap a lot harder, while the actual feeling is fairly on par.

Out of the glass jar I’m getting citrus zest, earthy pine, and a little bit of fruit punch. Smoking flavour leans more toward citrus zest and earthy pine. 🍊🌲

Overall, this is a solid daytime budget flower for me. Clear, uplifting, tasty enough, and very usable.

Introduction:
Permanent Marker is a strain that requires little introduction given the plethora of reviews on Kinds PM.

However, for a quick recap PMK is an indica dominant strain created through a cross of Biscotti x Jealousy x Sherb BX.

Packaging:
As with most Motherplant (MP) packaging this one is no different, a glass jar with the typical antitamper seal.

The glass seems to be good quality and the information contained on the label is sufficient, but personally I would like to see MP include percentages of terpines contained.

Aesthetics, aroma and flavour:

Aesthetics:
I must say the size of the flowers and the aggressive trim (presumably machine trimmed) leaves a lot to be desired. When I first opened the jar I was quite disappointed by the contents. However, some of that disappointment was curtailed by how fresh and vibrant the colour of the flower was. The purple and green hues are spectacular.

Aroma:
Loud and proud are the first words that come to mind. I have previously used strains which I had considered having quite a loud nose, but nothing thus far has compared to this one. The aroma is pungent, ridiculously pungent in fact.

When I had initially opened the jar I stored it downstairs and the aroma permeating from the jar carried up stairs.

True to its name the initial scent is very much permanent marker forward with a slight, subtle sweetness.

After grinding up the flower, the scent was purely that of a permanent marker.

I would not consider the aroma as pleasant, but certainly intriguing. I found myself continually smelling the jar as the scent is so on point.

Cure/Feel:

The flower felt sticky and resinous, each time I had handled the flower my finger tips had been left with a sticky and tacky feel. I would not consider this to be overly moist, but equally not even remotely close to being dry.

Flavour:

The flavour of the flower was a little harder for me to pick up on, it had what I would describe as a taste kind of inline with its aroma.

It was a flavour I have yet to encounter. It was robust, pungent and unusual. The key elements of the profile were a soapy, solvent, diesel fuel and spicy note. Not the best flavour profile I have ever encountered but certainly not the worst.

Effects:

It seems only fitting that given the aroma was so pronounced, that the effects that follow would also be. I am pleased to say that PMK is certainly an effective flower.

My initial dose of the flower vaped at a lower temperature range lead to a sense of overall calmness, contentment and an empty headspace. I was able to focus on tasks with ease and did not experience any severe couchlock.

This experience lasted approx. 1.5 hours.

Consuming my second dose at a higher temperature range, the characteristics of this flower had changed considerably.

I felt my head began to soar and float away, it left me feeling super light on my feet as I began to day dream and drift away, I felt like in that moment it would be very easy to get carried away enjoying a dreamy space.

This dream state was only interrupted by my phone going off and brining me back to reality (slightly).

Walking back inside, I must have had such a 'stoner grin' on my face as my family had been over and they just looked and laughed at me because of that goofy look.

Heading back to the living room, I began to melt into the couch, I felt mentally I could zone out watching TV, a movie or listening to music. The body felt heavy and muscles pliable. Any tightness or muscle spasm was quickly expelled.

As the night concluded and I made my way to sleep, I instantly merged into the mattress. Achieving sleep required no effort at all. After closing my eyes, I was out like a light!

I managed to sleep uninterrupted and woke feeling reinvigorated and fresh with no lingering effects or grogginess.

Conclusion:

PMK to me is not a one-trick pony; used at lower temperature ranges, the flower has shown promise for daytime use, and used at higher temperature ranges shows equal promise as a sedative flower.

I certainly understand why this flower has achieved such a high accolade from other users and even being awarded Leafly's flower of the year in 2023.

Initially when I had opened the jar I was a little dismayed at the physical appearance; however, those concerns were allayed quickly after consumption. This is not to say the appearance of a flower in this price range is acceptable, just more tolerable after trying it. I also am pleased it weighed albeit slightly over the stated weight.

Heads up to everyone, this batch of Pouch Lilac is moldy.

I contacted the pharmacy I received it from who were advised to replace it. Pharmacy replaced it with the same batch. Advised pharmacy I received the same batch. Pharmacy advised to send back as Phytoca has done their own checks and found this batch is indeed moldy. No other batch exists.

I'd vaped on this for nearly 3 weeks, had gone through 10 grams of it before I found this, livid.

I have an autoimmune condition and the therapy is a monoclonal antibody that modulates my immune system - I'm not immunocompromised like I've had a transplant, but my immune system is weakened and I'm at risk of bacterial and fungal infections, as is.

PSA: any and all Pouch Lilac on the market currently is moldy, and should be returned.

Where are the TGA or the companies involved making announcements of recalls?
