Wide Evo vs Mini Evo — is the bigger print actually worth it? 🤔

Hey y'all 👋 back with another dumb-question-from-a-lurker post.

I posted a while back about the Wide Evo and got some really honest

takes (thank you 🙏). Now I'm stuck on a different fork: Wide Evo vs Mini Evo.

On paper the Wide sounds like the obvious upgrade — bigger prints,

more room for the shot, feels more like a "real" photo. But the more

I look at people's feeds, the more I notice most of the shots I

actually save are Mini-sized. So I'm wondering if the Wide is

one of those things that sounds better than it feels day-to-day.

A few things I'd love to hear from people who've owned both (or

switched):

  1. Six months in, do you actually reach for the Wide more, or does

it end up sitting on the shelf while the Mini does the heavy

    lifting?

  2. Film cost — is the per-shot cost of Wide film enough to change

how you shoot? (I've heard "I stopped taking casual shots because

each one felt expensive" — is that real?)

  3. For the moments you actually keep on a wall or in an album —

does the extra size matter, or is a Mini in a nice frame

    basically the same emotional hit?

  4. Anyone regret going Wide? Or regret going Mini?

Not trying to start a war, just genuinely trying to spend my money

once and not twice 😅

Appreciate any real talk.

Thinking about getting the Wide Evo, but I have a few hesitations... (Also, do you guys hoard multiple Instax cameras?)

Hey everyone🙋

I’m currently looking at the Instax Wide Evo. Honestly, I’m totally drawn to the idea of a premium, tactile artifact.

But before I pull the trigger, I wanted to get some raw, unfiltered thoughts from actual users:

  1. For those who use the Wide Evo, what is your biggest "meh" or frustration with it? 🤔 Is the app workflow smooth enough, or does it feel like a chore to get photos printed/transferred?
  2. Do you guys exclusively use the Wide Evo now, or do you still keep other Instax cameras (like a Mini 12 or a Square) in your bag? If you hold onto multiple, what makes you choose one over the other for a night out or a trip?

I’m trying to see if the Wide Evo can genuinely be that "one ultimate craft camera" for everyday life, or if it’s just a niche addition to a bigger collection.

Appreciate any insights! 💝
